Failure reminds me of learning to ride a bicycle — you have to fall a few times until the water in your eardrums helps you find balance. With time, that balance becomes second nature — your subconscious takes over. It’s the same with anything in life. Once you reach unconscious competence, things start to flow. The real challenge is making sure you don’t break your leg in the process — and that’s where a hand-holding mentor comes in handy. A good coach or mentor has already reached that level of competence. They can see, hear, or sense things in ten minutes that might take you ten years to figure out on your own. You see? And that “punch in the stomach” feeling? That’s your subconscious telling you you’ve hit a limit — an invisible ceiling. Ignore it, and it’s like flying an airplane with anchors down: the faster you go, the stronger the drag. The goal is to unplug that emotional button from past programming and rewire it with higher-level thinking. Once your emotions stop reacting, your mind starts leading — and that’s where real growth begins. See less
