New Zealand
Has anyone been to New Zealand or have a favorite winery there? Planning a trip there soon and trying to figure out if there are any hot stops.

I know that there are WAY too much information in there but these are the places we went to in 2015. We spent no more than 2 nights at the same place. We booked Airbnbs and cooked our meals. We bought a cooler (Styrofoam, nothing too fancy) and we packed our food and traveled from place to place. Much cheaper than a hotel and restaurants every night. However, I have to say that New Zealand probably has the best Indian Food restaurants. You have to try. if you need any more information, please, do not hesitate. Have fun.

Slik Skool Might Be My Favorite Thing
I love hanging out with y'all for happy hour and getting to know you all a bit more. Thanks to everyone who joined today (even if it was only for a minute, @Tammy Matlock ;) ) I'm doing a "wine personality quiz" on the website a la Seventeen Magazine, so I made this visual to go with it. You guys get first dibs to laugh with me. And, why not, you guys can take it early if you want. Here's the preview link: https://quiz.tryinteract.com/#/preview/67bfcc068ad67300152642a1 (it'll ask for your email before your results but you can just give a fake one lol) <3 Marie

A Note About Account Sharing & A New Map Tab
This is something I've been gnawing on and wanted to bring it up with the group. One Slik Skool member was one of the tasting room managers of a winery. They bought one Skool membership and shared it with all the staff at the tasting room as part of their training (particularly the Classroom on Skool). I'm not sure how many people were using it, but it brought up the ethical dilemma of account/password sharing. Look, I use my wife's Netflix account so I understand there's nuance to this, but Netflix is a multi-billion dollar corporation and Slik Skool is just me. I have to set up some parameters to protect myself and get paid for the work I put into this. I have not put up rules for this until now so: if you're currently in Slik Skool sharing one account with one other person, I am cool with that. If you use Skool to share with more than one person, that is NOT permitted (there are Admin tools I can use to track this). If you are currently doing this, just DM me, and let's talk. If I have to find you, you will be kicked off Slik Skool. For any new members that join Slik Skool, there will be only one person per account. Thank you for understanding, Marie PS: There's a new 'Map' tab on Slik Skool so you can see where all the students are in the world! Pretty neat 😎

I'm speechless 😢. This is really sad @Marie Cheslik and I totally support you if you wish to crack down on the password sharing like Netflix did. ❀️
Georgian Wine
Tried a bottle of Kakhuri Gvinis Marani Kindzmarauli Doki last night. Starting with the bottle it is an amazing work of art. Decanted the bottle twice to be able to pour it from the bottle. Love this tip from Marie! The color was a very dark burgundy color and the smell was crisp. The first sip remind me of fruit juice and water. I believe this would be a great wine for a summer sangria. Let me know if anyone has tried this wine.

This is a very beautiful bottle. I have never had Georgian wine and I am now curious. Thank you for the description, did you have with food or was it too light?
Lil' Updates: Skool Perks, Coffee Hour Q&A, & NOLA Recs
Howdy Everyone! A few updates this week: 1. Being part of Slik Skool, I'm giving every active user on here an Advanced Reader Copy of my book, How To Read A Wine Label (I know the Slik Skool was split between 1 and 2, but 1 has a wider appeal, so we're going with that!). If you're reading this and want one, write a comment down below so I know you're interested. 2. Due to popular demand, I put another Q&A session in the calendar. This time, I put in a Coffee Hour Q&A instead of a Happy Hour one for the 20th! I put a poll down below to see if you like the idea of a coffee Q&A or want to only do Happy Hours. I'm such a morning person that I love this idea but want to see how you guys feel. 3. @Kimberly Kaplan asked for some New Orleans recommendations after I went a month ago, so thanks for your patience on this, but here's a list I've gathered from my chef friend. I'd also add Pluck to the list of wine bars to check out. You won't find a lot of the classic spots because the chef friend used to live there, so he likes going a bit more off the beaten path. Classics I'd recommend are Commander's Palace, Galatoire's, or Antoine's if you've never been to NOLA.
