🎉 NEW VIDEO DROP: "Chic Meets Playful – A 7 y.o.'s Bedroom That Actually Works" 🛏️✨
Hey HWYH fam! 🙌Ever tried designing a kid’s room that looks like it belongs in a magazine but still survives LEGOs, glitter explosions, and spontaneous dance parties? Well, buckle up, because my latest YouTube video is live and it's part style lab, part sanity-saver. 💥 🎈 In this episode, I walk you through: ✔️ How to balance grown-up chic with kiddo chaos ✔️ Storage tricks that even 7-year-olds actually use ✔️ Why color psychology isn't just for therapy sessions ✔️ The secret sauce behind a space that grows with them This isn't just about cute decor—it’s about empowering young girls with rooms that reflect their personalities AND set them up for success. 💪👧 (Go ahead, I'll wait. And yes, there's a closet moment you won't want to miss.) Let’s talk in the comments—what would your inner 7-year-old have LOVED in her room?

Your Environment Is Either Backing You UP - Or Dragging You Down
Let’s get real: If your home feels chaotic, cluttered, or just straight-up off — it’s not neutral. It's either validating who you’re becoming… or sabotaging every damn effort. And I’ve got science receipts. 📍 A Princeton study found that visual clutter literally competes for your brain’s attention, wrecking your focus and increasing fatigue. 📍 A UCLA study showed that clutter = cortisol (yep, the stress hormone). The more clutter in a home, the more stressed the women living in it felt. 📍 And James Clear (Atomic Habits guy) says environment is the invisible hand shaping your behavior. So if your space is dull, dysfunctional, or chaotic… guess what kind of habits it’s reinforcing? ⚡Reality check:Your space isn’t just where you live. It's training you. You’re either being backed up by your home — or slowly worn down by it. 💬 So let’s talk: Drop ONE thing your space is doing right now that’s low-key sabotaging you. Lighting? Layout? Visual clutter?Let’s name it and fix it.

The lack of natural light in my office space is really getting to me. I feel disconnected from everyone and everything. It's like a black hole where I go to do my work, which can be good for an initial bout of distraction free production- but after a couple of hours in, I am mentally drained, distracted, and a bit depressed. I need to do something about this space to get the dopamine hits that will keep me going. Thinking about incorporating plants, other sources of lighting, and covering up these white walls.
Hello and Welcome
Hey, I’m Carmen—and I’m so damn glad you’re here. You’ve done the mindset work. The vision boards. The affirmations. The courses, coaching, and probably a spiritual awakening or two.(Plus a Pinterest board full of “someday” rooms you keep secretly scrolling.) But here’s the deal no one talks about in all that self-development content:If your home still reflects a past version of you, it’s going to keep you living there. Yes, I said it. Your space holds energy.Your surroundings speak to you—sometimes in whispers, sometimes in straight-up sabotage. And if you’re trying to become your next-level self while still surrounded by old energy, clutter, beige walls, and furniture you’ve outgrown (emotionally and literally), it’s like trying to meditate at a rave. This is where HOME Within Your House comes in. This community is for folks who’ve done the inner work and are ready to make their outer world reflect it. Whether you’re here to: Redesign a room that feels out of sync with who you are now, Learn how to make intentional design choices that support your growth, Or just stop feeling like your home is stuck in a version of you you’ve already outgrown... You're in the right place. This isn’t HGVT. It's not about chasing trends or creating a Pinterest-perfect life. It's about designing one space that supports the version of you you’re becoming. One space that feels like a deep exhale. One space that reminds you: you are not going back. Over the next few weeks, I’ll be sharing stories, space audits, behind-the-scenes of real transformations, and invitations to go deeper. But for now, I want to hear from you. 👇 Drop a comment and tell me:What’s one space in your home that feels out of alignment with the version of you you’re becoming—and what do you wish it felt like instead? No shame, no judgment—just honesty.Because awareness is the first step. And I’m here to help you design the rest—beautifully, intentionally, and within reach. Let’s do this.

I'll go first. My husband and I have not slept in the same room for the last 2 years, and that's because my daughter has slept in the bed with me instead. This was easier. He has super early mornings, and she would end up coming into our room in the middle of the night anyway. BUT, no more. We are actively renovating our new bedrooms (one for her, and the other for us) so that we can all finally feel like we want at the end of the day. I am so ready to see what changes will come with the new setup. And definitely looking forward to having a grown up, chic, sexy, and calm bedroom for the two of us.

If you’ve done the inner work but your surroundings still scream “old chapter,” we’re about to fix that—with beauty, soul, and zero beige energy.
