Hidden fairy nooks for kids to find
Ok I can’t for the life of me figure out what to really call this, but I’ve seen people hide little scenes in empty outlet boxes etc. I’ve been searching my house for somewhere I can do this, but no luck. BUT… I realized last night that we are building an investment ski chalet right now.(family project). So, it will be rented out as an air bnb, but my kids and nieces/nephews will also be up there sometimes. And now I’m beside myself excited to come up with ideas to build in little hidden spaces, but I don’t know where to start! Has anyone done anything like this? Any search terms to use, or pictures of what you’ve done??

Working on a new fairy house
So I've just started working on a new fairy house. I'll share pictures/ideas along the way. My fairy houses always start with walks in the woods. I'm lucky to live near several state parks. I always bring a shopping bag with me...and sometimes my saws-all. And I collect stuff. It's helpful to have a lot of stuff on hand--interesting pieces of wood, tree roots. Here's my stock pile, as well as a piece I found in the woods yesterday that might make the basis of a roof.

I feel so validated by your stash of collected goodies! I should show my husband so he knows I’m not crazy 😆 That piece you found in the woods is just *chefs kiss*
Must…create….
I’m wandering around looking at all my supplies, not sure what to make, or where to start or what to do, but… I need to create!! (I’m not the only one, right?)

@Abigail Cumpsty yes! I love your process. I like to let the pieces tell me what they want to be. The piece you identified is one I found at my parents place last time I visited, and I was like a little kid when I saw it!! I have made a lot of doors, so that’s where my brain took it. But I love your idea of a shelf! I started working with it last night, but I might redirect now! Thanks! 🙏
Something Magical Is Coming This June
A friend is coming to Vancouver to help me film and photograph, and we have a little part of the forest where we can build Fairyland 🙏🤩 For one whole month, I’ll be focusing fully on bringing Fairyland to life - with tiny houses, paths, lanterns, bridges, villages, and hidden magical corners. I’m so excited to share the whole process with you as it grows. But first, I’d love your help: What should we call this Fairyland-building month? Mary

Is this going to be somewhere we could see in person??? I live near Vancouver and I adore all your builds!

Very cool, thank you!! I’m camping near there for the summer solstice next month. 🥰 Very fairy magic time.

I’m sure I’m not the only one who struggles to contain my crafty madness. I technically have a little craft desk, but it’s teeny tiny and downstairs and cold and not great light. So inevitably, I end up taking over the kitchen table for several days at a time. My toddler joins me, and loves to do crafting! I just let her have some of whatever I’m working with and she creates all kinds of things. Anyways, I’d love to see - what does your crafting space look like?? What organization tools or tips do you have? What are your most used items? No judgement, messes welcome 😆
