"How to be a Mentor or Coach to Anyone"
There's only 3 Questions you ever need to ask to get to the bottom of a Problem or Issue: The Kickstart Question: What’s on your Mind The AWE Question: And What else? The Focus Question: What’s the real challenge here for you? This system was developed by one of my favorite Authors: Michael Bungay Stanier This can work with any relationship in work, life or otherwise. It works because you're not only helping others to define their problem but use the solution they created to solve their own problems makes them infinitely more motivated to take action with their solution. Until Tomorrow, -JZ

It sounds easy. The success lies in creating the trust between client and us, and that is the difficult part, even more so for someone trying to start out becoming a coach.

Hi, I am Calvin. I am mostly hangdog online everywhere, if I managed to grab the nick. I hail from Singapore, maybe you have heard of it. 😉 A little red dot in South East Asia. I have worked as an IT professional since grsduating, the first decade as a support engineer in a vendor, then the past 2 decade as part of an end user IT team in a fairly large organisation. I have been a student of leadership, productivity systems, self development, in search of performance, and more recently in search of purpose, and in general to become a better person in general. I have starting receiving Jason's newsletter past year months, and I find it covered many books that I have read, or intended to read. I thought we are somewhat aligned, and perhaps I can learn more here. Which brings me to this membership / community. I hope I can learn, and maybe share my thoughts sometime. I find that when I share my thoughts, I gain more clarity. Glad to be here.

@Jason Ziebarth I have a few books from Ryan Holiday queuing in my Audible library. Currently on "Ego is the Enemy" I am looking forward to get into "Think Faster, Talk Smarter" by Matt Abrahams. I think this will be a really good one for me.
Forward Looking Skills for Cybersecurity?
Hi, Jason and all fellow members, If we were to give advice to newcomers or existing security engineers, what do you think will be the most important skill/cert to get in Cybersecurity in the next couple of years?
