Hi Tribers, we had quite a few talks here about music generated with AI… just the other day (or maybe yesterday, IDK, my days are blending) I shared an amazing track made by one of our Tribers @Lévis Côté Tremblay… The question is not wether or not AI will take over or even when… the question is - how will you tell if it’s AI and more importantly - how will you prove in court? If you are releasing music or are working with sync licensing companies (for movies, commercials etc) or you are any kind of composer or producer, this will effect you! The whole music industry is rapidly changing (well, it always has, to be fair - it really is the fastest changing industry, always has been) and it’s strongly influenced and affected by AI in the moment. Trust me, being a composer, producer, DJ, label owner and performing touring artist, this isn’t easy for me to swallow… good thing that I knew it was coming! What does this mean for you!? You need to not be afraid (fear is the mind killer) and trying to compete. You need to embrace, make friends and coexist and collaborate AND DOUBLE DOWN — more than ever!!!!! — on chopping up your skills and play live. Raw, authentic, full of mistakes and happy accidents, LIVE performances is the way to go! People more than ever — and it’s just the beginning — crave human to human connection. @Tim Gray - I listened to your 19EDO, and thought about posting this intro I did to a full meditation track. This was done with a Eurorack setup, I'll post the picture of the rack. It used 4 oscillators and they were tuned by ear, so not 440 or anything specific. Used a Turing Machine triggered by the clock of a drum machine step sequencer Fed to a O_C module which drives the OSCs. Turing machine also drives the envelope triggers. Took 19hrs of recording the sequence to find the "right" progression, where everything worked out. Pictures attached of the gear used to create it.
