Who here is building a company?
I am interested in connecting with other founders. I've connected with a few, but I suspect there are a few more hiding in here. To get the conversation going, can you share: - What company are you building? - What founder problem are you dealing with right now that ICM can't solve for you?

@Chad Richardson warm network through referrals. It is not sustainable.

@Andre Cordero I am getting better at focusing on one thing but it is a constant struggle. Curse of the entrepreneurial brain. I like the projects you are working on!

@Ari Evergreen this is how I learned VIM keyboard shortcuts (motions) https://vim-adventures.com/ Fair warning. Once you get used to, there is no going back. You become a precision surgeon working on a body of text :-) Zed does support Vim mode so you could continue using it. Neovim is another rabbit hole, LOL.

@Arne-Per Heurberg out of the box yes, it is pretty plain. The big improvements starts when you stop using the mouse and start navigating with your keyboard. I now even have a Vim mode in my browser so I can even click on links on the page without touching the mouse. There is also a Vim mode fo VScode. How all that is going to hold up in the AI era, I don't know. I do not code by hand much anymore, unless I am programming one of my vintage computers. Vim motions (shortcuts) are still very handy when editing md files.

Seattle-Area Community Meetup?
I recently moved to the Seattle area after living in a small town, and I’d love to start meeting more people from this community in real life. Are there any Jake Van Clief community members in Seattle or the surrounding area who would be interested in grabbing coffee, meeting for lunch, or putting together a small local meetup? It would be great to connect, exchange ideas, and get to know some of you beyond the online community.

I am thinking about setting something up in September. Waiting for my son's school to start.
Using AI without losing YOUR voice
You all mean a lot to me. I truly enjoy this community. Everyone is so excited about using AI and building things that matter. I love how people show up here to help each other and celebrate the wins. Goodness knows, I have learned so much from each of you and I thank you. That said, some of what I am reading, both posts and responses, is mostly generated by AI (if not entirely) and it makes it harder for me to connect with them. I’ve used AI in my own responses too, so I’m not throwing stones. But I do try to make sure it still sounds like me. I’d love to see more of people’s real voice, even if it’s less polished. Yes, ChatGPT assisted me in creating this post - but it's MY voice. ;) You're all amazing!

@Carla Bosteder Yes, I see this too, and it resonates with me. I do use AI to help draft a lot of my responses, but I usually start from my own voice (dictated) notes and thoughts rather than just pasting something in and asking AI to reply blindly. It simply takes me much longer to turn those thoughts into a polished message myself. Even though my AI has a lot of context about how I write and communicate, I can still see a gap between my actual voice and an AI extrapolation of my voice. That is something I would really like to work on. It could actually be fun to compare notes and experiment together with how we get AI-assisted writing to sound more like the real person behind it, rather than a polished approximation of them.

@Carla Bosteder I love this on so many levels! If I may, I would love to adapt it for both my secular men's work and my church work.
