Sum🥰
Everything is scary for Sum so we are taking it really slow by just walking around. Letting him sniff an introducing him to the other horses. Tying him up so I can give him a big groomsession and picking up his feet. So it will be easy with the blacksmith❤️🥰 Caught him sleeping and dreaming this week soooo cute😍

I am a big fan of the 'change the mindset' thoughts!! That's great :) The yawn and chew are excellent releases! Definitely telling you that he's relaxed and with you. Is Sum new to you or just young? He's cute!!

☕ GET GOOD COFFEE HOUR (TEST RUN)...
Alright…am gonna be testing something new 🤩 ⭐ SAVE THE DATE: Next Thursday 21 May 2026 at 7pm CEST - I’m going to hit that LIVE button inside the community for a relaxed and super fun “Get Good Coffee Hour.” Calendar · Get Good With Horses Courses No pressure to you or formal training required, just a casual 15-minute hangout while I (we) test the features and explore future themed sessions and community calls. I’d LOVE a few of you to jump in so I’m not talking to myself like a madwoman 🤣 A few things to know if you join: 🔹 You do NOT have to have your camera on 🔹 You can mute yourself if you prefer 🔹 You can simply listen quietly if that feels more comfortable 🔹 You do not need to know what to say 🔹 Tea is also accepted, or just water if you must - we’re inclusive here 😂 This is simply about getting more comfortable connecting as a community. FYI - All future recordings will be saved and made available in Premium. If you think you’ll pop in, drop a ☕ below so I know I won’t be alone and if you have a question (any question) about your horsemanship - this is a great opportunity to get live feedback. Looking forward, Zoë 🐴✨🫶

@Zoë Coade That's pretty difficult. I'd love to join, but is there any way to potentially have replays or something of that sort. Or pre-recorded things that we could use as learning/training tools? Just a thought

@Zoë Coade Yay!!!! I don't have a large budget, so joining into paid memberships isn't very available to me. I'll use all of the free tools I can though!
🐎 Week 19 - 2026
Alright peeps, what did you and your horse get up to this week? I’d love to hear what’s been going on in your world re: the rides, the groundwork, the little breakthroughs, the funny moments, the things that felt better than before or even the things that challenged you a bit. 👇🐴✨🫶
🐎 Week 19 - 2026

(For this group, do the weeks run Sunday through Saturday? So this week 19 would be may 3rd - May 9th?) Frosty had another good week. Gave a lesson to our friends fiance, worked on coming back into some reining work, my daughter rode him to practice her dressage tests and I used him to pony our friends OTTB. Jackson is still super confused by flying changes, but we have also learned that he is out of gaited lines. I have seen/felt him gaiting at the walk and now at the trot as well. I think this is our missing link!! We are going to stop practicing any changes for a bit and work on regaining some of our confidence with one another. My daughter used him from her dressage test practices this week too.

@Zoë Coade Jackson is an appaloosa gelding. They are known to have some gaited in their lines, and I have been talking to his breeder and previous owner and learned about his specific line. I have had Jackson checked by the vet, and two different body workers as well as spoken with an animal communicator. I don't disagree that soreness/compensation could cause more lateral movement than normal. That's actually what we thought for quite some time, but besides a bit of stiffness over his si area, he's been given clean bill of health by everyone that has 'worked' on him. He turns 7 in 12 days, and has the dentist coming that same day. She's a neurological dentist and is AMAZING!!! Was able to tell me more about my horse just by looking at his mouth than some people can that are around him every day.
☮️ I Trust My Horse More Than Most People...
✨ Don’t get me wrong, I have good people in my corner and right now thankfully the right people - but at the end of the day, it’s my horses I trust most. They tell me immediately when something is off, when my energy isn’t good enough for them, and they also tell me when everything feels just right. There’s no pretending with horses, no fake intentions, no hidden agenda, they are honest in a way that can be both humbling and healing. One of the greatest lessons they ever taught me was to leave them each day in a place where you can pick up again tomorrow with trust still intact. What a magical thing that is, imagine how different the world would look if more people treated each other the same way. I think, in the end, it all boils down to one simple word: Honesty. ❓What is the biggest lesson your horse has taught you either recently or in the past? 🐴✨🫶

Frosty tore his second hind suspensory in October of 2025. The vet told me that I might as well put him to sleep because a 21 year old that has navicular and has now torn two hind suspensories will never be comfortable again. I almost set up an appointment for him to be PTS, but something stopped me. Not a voice, not a human, but a feeling. A feeling like I should know he wasn't ready to be 'done'. I listened to that feeling and my horse is now working almost straight back to the way he was before he got injured at all. I'm so glad that I did NOT listen to the vet, and I fully believe that Frosty was telling me somehow that he wasn't ready to be done. Nobody will convince me otherwise.
✨ A Little Update From My Side…
Things have been a little quieter from my side the last couple of days. As we edge into summer and the weather improves (the blessing and curse of this job 😅), things naturally get busier with clients and horses. A majority of the new clients are not at my stables therefore more travel time is required. Alongside that, my sweet mummy is currently in hospital with heart issues, so that’s been taking a lot of emotional energy. Behind the scenes though, I have been busy. I’m editing new material for Premium, preparing some bigger changes for this community because honestly, in its current form it’s just not sustainable long term, and I want to build this into something that can really last and grow properly. The boys are good - Benny, as always, takes about 20 minutes longer to groom each day while he slowly defloofs himself into summer mode 😅 Usually by the end of May we finally see the end of it. And Lenny recently had a chiropractic treatment as I’m bringing him back into full-time work again. I wanted to make sure his body was feeling good before asking more of him, and after a few minor adjustments we thankfully got the green light to get back to it. At the end of May I’ll also be heading over to Ireland to spend a few days training with @Deirdre Glynn, which I’m really looking forward to. And somewhere amongst all of that, I’m still protecting at least one day a week to work on my book. Life does get extra busy and tough and sometimes, it stretches us. But as you can see, if you truly want to build something with horses, it doesn’t mean life has to come to a complete standstill every time things get hard. Sometimes it’s just about learning how to keep moving one step at a time. Anyhow and with all that said, I wish you a pleasant Sunday and here’s a kiss from my darling boy Lenny. 🐴✨🫶

Sorry to hear about your Mom!! I'm curious, I see that you have been approved to bring Lenny back into work...had something happened to him? Also, what breed of horse is he?

@Zoë Coade That's great!! Looking forward to seeing some adventures you have with him :) It takes a really special kind of person to stoop to the level of wrecking someones reputation. Good for you on getting past it and really stepping into yourself now!! Proud of you!!
