Good Friday? Jesus Bled Before Good Friday!
Jesus Bled Before Good Friday? 1. In the Garden – He Bled in Agony (Spiritual Battle) Scripture: Luke 22:44 (NLT) “He prayed more fervently, and he was in such agony of spirit that his sweat fell to the ground like great drops of blood.” Meaning: Before any man touched Him, Jesus was already suffering. This was an internal, spiritual crushing—He was taking on the weight of sin, separation, and the cup of wrath. Message: Jesus bled for us in the place of prayer. Victory over sin begins before the battle shows up physically. 2. At the Scourging – He Bled from the Whipping (Physical Brokenness) Scripture: John 19:1 (NLT) “Then Pilate had Jesus flogged with a lead-tipped whip.” Isaiah 53:5 (NLT) “He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed.” Meaning: The Roman scourging tore His flesh open. This was not symbolic—it was brutal, physical suffering. Message: Jesus bled for our healing. Not just spiritual salvation—but restoration of the whole man (body, soul, and mind). 3. At the Crown of Thorns – He Bled from His Head (Mental & Authority Battle) Scripture: Matthew 27:29 (NLT) “They wove thorn branches into a crown and put it on his head…” Meaning: Thorns represent the curse (Genesis 3). Placing them on His head symbolized taking the curse upon His mind and authority. Message: Jesus bled for our thoughts, identity, and dominion. He redeemed • Our mindset • Our shame • Our identity as sons 4. On the Cross – He Bled from His Hands, Feet, and Side (Final Atonement) Scriptures: John 19:18 (NLT) – Crucifixion John 19:34 (NLT) “One of the soldiers pierced his side with a spear, and immediately blood and water flowed out.” Meaning: This is the moment most people focus on—but it is actually the culmination, not the beginning. Message: Jesus bled for our salvation and covenant. • Hands → what we’ve done • Feet → where we’ve gone • Side → new life (blood + water) Good Friday was not the start of the sacrifice—it was the completion of it.
