Hi all, Joined like many of you as keen to help grow and work though the issues that will arise with the token system to ensure it can fit into the economic environment so it will succeed as it should. One issue I see is insurance, a necessary evil now in a commercial transaction/asset..if worked right it can help the industry eg insurance companies require an annual tree inspection/ and or work completed only by suitably qualified arborists, able to provide affordable and appropriate damage/loss cover using a industry led matrix. A good collaboration with insurance could benefit Arboricultural standards and help the industry set the standard instead of Councils for example. However there needs to be an affordable levy matrix otherwise it will be too expensive for owner and or user to to ensure its economically profitable to buy into the token system. Something to work through and would be good to hear other people's perspectives . I feel that NZ arboriculture is still struggling to develop a professional identity in NZ which is important regardless but important going forward with this Will talk about that another time.
