How to clean 2P trackers?
Hello everyone, Next week, I have to go to visit a customer They have 400 2P trackers, similar to the picture, even bigger and higher. I need to go to check out what method could be the best to clean. They told me that they did it with brushes in the past. Did you did this before? What do you recommend to me? I was thinking of using a crane, laying the trackers horizontally and cleaning them with a robot. To be faster.

Brushes is indeed the typical cleaning method. If they are able to be flat enough for a robot then it seems a good option. The other option is drone cleaning. You can apply the cleaning product (e.g., Drone Solar Cleaning Agent from Chemitek Solar) on a few trackers and then rinse them. it should be faster than even the robot, if you consider the time to take the robot on and off the trackers. The cleaning quality will not be the same as the robot but it comes down to how soiled they are and how much the client is willing to pay.

Does anyone have a video on how to use the SWP? I’m going to start upselling that as a premium cleaning service and I want to make sure I know how to use the product correctly.

Thoughts on Karcher iSolar 800 solar cleaner.
Hey everyone, just wanted to share my experience with the KƤrcher iSolar rotary brush cleaner. First off, I found the product extremely expensive — but then again, everything seems to be over here in New Zealand. Logistics, I guess šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø The marketing was convincing enough to get me to buy it, but after using it, I’d say it’s really only effective on lightly soiled panels. The brushes are very soft, so they don’t provide much scrubbing power for anything more than dust or light grime, which is great for those projects. Handling-wise, it’s quite cumbersome, especially when the telescopic pole is fully extended. Definitely not the easiest tool to manage if you’re working at height or over a large area. Curious to hear if anyone else has used it and what your thoughts are! Thanks.

Hi Trevor! There are several members with experience on the iSolar 800. Your experience with on par with most members. 5 years ago it was one of the few options in the market but now you can find options that are cheaper, clean better and are easier to manage on site (e.g. Qleen Vario and Solatecs).

Question about chemitek paint removal agent. About how many panels will one gallon clean?
2 likes • Jun 6
Hi David! It depends on the type of paint overspray you are facing. The recommended dilution for water based paint is 1:5 and for solvent based paint is 1:2. This means that you can clean 50 to 100 panels with one gallon.
Question
Can I clean panels with a glass scraper? I have some ash that I can't clean with a brush, so I guess I need to use something stronger to remove it.

Have you tried using a cleaning agent such as the Solar Wash Protect or the Lichen Removal Agent? The PV manufacturers forbid the use of scrapers because they will damage the anti-reflective coating.
