💌 Mid-Year Self Reflection 💌
It’s officially the halfway point of the year, which means it’s time to check in and see how your year is playing out. Idk about you, but for me 2026 has not played out the way I was expecting and so I am extra excited to take a grown up time out and reflect on the year. We get so busy with the day to day of life that sometimes we need to take the space to revisit the big picture: where we are at with our goals and visions. So here’s how I do this mid-year reflection. 1. Find a quiet space where you can reflect. Grab a notebook and pen. 2. Set a timer for 20 minutes (you can use more time if needed) 3. I like to add some meditation or vibe music. 4. Answer these questions: 1. What went really well this year? What do you have to celebrate? 2. What didn’t go well or what could have been better? Why didn’t it go your way, was it scheduling, timing, not aligned, something unexpected?  3. Are there any feelings you need to process and release or forgiveness you need to give to yourself or others? 4. What are your new intentions and ambitions?  5. What can you adjust and recommit to to make your goals happen in the rest of the year? 6. What are you grateful for? - Close out this session with some deep breaths ( I like to also smell essential oils to clear out and reset) This process allows us to reflect, realign, and reset our 2026 goals, so that we can either start fresh or continue building our momentum. Did you have any ah-ha moments or realizations during this process?

What type of boyfriend do you think Azriel will be? (ACOTAR 6)
I am hoping that the new ACOTAR will be an Azriel book. I know that he is mysterious and a shadow singer. But I feel like he will be such a golden retriever boyfriend. With each reread, I love him even more. I feel like he will end up being my favorite batboy. What do you think? How do you feel about our Az?

@Carrie Cottingham I feel like if he is the main boy in the next ACOTAR, he will be my favorite.
Anyone watch off campus?
I caved to the booktok hype. I started watching off campus...and I get it The book, the Deal, wasn't even on my TBR but now it may be 2nd on the list (after dungeon crawler carl)
Would you rather...

@Paula Marie Lee I think that as teachers, we can find ourselves in option B so often, because planning, organizing, learning skills is a huge part of what we do. Plus we work with kids so there's less pressure, lol. I agree that having confidence helps us more forward and do the things whether we have the skills or not yet, but the paradox is that confidence usually comes AFTER we do the things, experiment, and make mistakes, and not BEFORE. Courage creates a space for confidence to grow. It's like we all want option A, but have to grow through option B to get there.

@Paula Marie Lee yes. Exactly. I'm proud of you for showing up nervous and vulnerable. We have to show up enough so that it becomes the norm, even though the nerves will still hit each time.
My "fuck it" slump...
You know how the Chinese zodiac this year is the flaming horse...? Well I thought it was going to be all strength and power, blazing a path in 2026. and you know what, the exact opposite happened to me...or so I thought? In February, I hit a complete wall. I went MIA in the online space, and could not bring myself to do anything other than work, chores, read, and turn inward. I didn't want to give up on my goals and ambitions, but I just couldn't seem to make anything work. My routines went haywire and I just didn't have the energy or care do make anything happen. I thought I was just in a seasonal depression or a slump, but wasn't really sure what was going on, all I know is that I did not want to continue on the way I had been doing things...all effort, no changes. But I still felt off. I still felt like I should have been building momentum, because you know 2026, flaming horse, etc.....but I felt like just saying "fuck it" to the world, to expectations, to pressure. I put in my resignation in at work, got a suspension, and then had to serve on Jury duty. As of today (June 1, 2026), I'm slowly getting back into things and feel like one day, I will look on this season of "fuck it" mentality with gratitude, because its making me slow down and really figure out what I want and where in life I want to put my efforts. So maybe the flaming horse isn't about strength and brute force, but rather a mindset of fuck it, let's burn this place to the ground and forge a new path forward? Just something that came to me today. What do you think? Have you been having any "fuck it" mentality lately?
