Welcome to Hypertension Army 👋
High blood pressure is called the silent killer for a reason. You can feel fine while it’s quietly damaging your heart, brain, kidneys, and arteries. That’s the scary truth—and it’s why this community exists. Here, we’re not pretending it’s “no big deal.” We’re here to face it, share what’s working, and back each other up in the fight. I’d love to hear from you: 👉 When did you first find out about your blood pressure? 👉 What’s been the hardest part of dealing with it so far? Drop your answers below. You’re not in this alone anymore—welcome to the Army.

For me I developed 1st level Hypertension (135/85) when I turned 34 and had my 3rd kid and hit my all time high weight. It finally set in that I was getting older and things were changing for me. With a newborn I had to make some changes and even though I am a nurse and I have the education to know better...that doesn't mean necessarily that making consistent day to day changes it easy. I asked my doctor to start me on 50mg XR Metoprolol to help manage my blood pressure but then I fell into the mental trap of...well the meds are working...I can continue to get away with unhealthy choices. I have struggled with my relationship with food an exercise my whole life. The "eh, I have time to worry about it later" mentality... has finally caught up to me. That is why I decided to make this group. Not just to help educate others but for my own benefit as well to help keep each other accountable. Thanks for joining and I look forward to working together. "Rising tides, raise all ships"
