Address for LLC
I am going to be setting up an LLC for a side project related to the fire station / tap house project we're working through. This separate LLC would have our labeled hot sauce line, as well as an ambulance food truck (shave ice, ice cream, hot dogs, etc.). I had to setup a Traveling Mailbox account for the LLC structure we are setting up with the STR Law Guys. I just asked them if I should use that same address for this new LLC and they said they cannot provide an opinion since this LLC is outside of their contracted scope. They said to ask my CPA, but of course, Ryan's team has said to ask a lawyer...and the cycle goes round and round. I know it's just people's opinions, but hoping someone can provide their thoughts... 1- Yes, might as well use the same address via Traveling Mailbox 2- No, you should use your home address because it's actually mostly out of your home

@Mason Kimball, CPA thanks. I agree and figured that made the most sense. And yes slightly frustrating they wouldn’t give an opinion but appreciate yours!!
Virtual Mailbox Setup
Any recommendations / strategies to setting up a virtual mailbox that will allow multiple businesses to use the same address? In looking into it, sounds like I need to provide my name and fill out a form for USPS to allow setup / mail handling...doesn't that defeat the purpose of the WY holding company and anonymity? Kinda confused by that one... If you are doing this, are you choosing a location in your home state, or one in a nearby state, or other? I'm seeing iPostal1 or Anytime Mailbox as the best options.

@Brian McDowell when you say for business credit, this address does not work, are you referring to a specific staples location? Or are you referring to iPostal1 as a whole?
Term Life Insurance Question
We're going through the asset protection process with STR Law Guys and life insurance came up as a topic; I do not have very much. Is there any scenario in which we can expense life insurance premiums against one of our properties, or, perhaps a business? For our eventual Fire Station Tap House project, this has also come up in SBA lender discussions, and we know we'll need additional life insurance (to include key man). However, curious if I added term life now, is there a way that becomes a write off?
I think I messed up my account type
Just now I was trying to join the Friday call, and it said I had to unlock VIP. I’m a current VIP member, but it still wouldn’t let me in, so I thought maybe I needed to pay the one dollar fee to access the new group because all three were combined. So I paid that, and now it says I’m no longer a VIP member, and I still can’t join the call. Clearly not my day… SOS…

Intro - Brian Heidt in Minnesota
Hello everyone, thanks for the great community and content! I’m hoping to save money on taxes to help grow our portfolio and eventually stop working my W2. Right now we have 3 properties (2 LTR and 1 STR) but we just won a competitive bid with our local city to purchase their old fire station, which we plan on turning into a self-pour tap house and restaurant. Slow progress with the city but it’s moving. Number one challenge right now is getting all of our properties properly put into entities and set up our entities for the fire station purchase / project. Lots of good info here so looking forward to getting that going in the next month or so.

@Ana Carolina MuƱoz thanks! It’s been a fun (yet stressful) ride for sure! Today we had to submit our actual offer and explain our concessions rationale. Nervous to see how the city responds to our laundry list of items 🫣

@Julie Stutzman very cool, thanks for sharing! We’re not going to brew, but we’re planning 28 taps so we can rotate beer, seltzers, ciders, ready-to-drink cocktails / mocktails, and nitro coffee. So, if you have distributors in MN let me know, would be happy to put you guys into rotation!
