1031 Exchange question
We are planning to do a 1031 exchange. If the relinquished property was in me and my wife’s name, can we put the replacement property in an LLC?

Thanks @Ryan Bakke, CPA. This helps a lot. For the single-member LLC option, would my wife and I have to own separate SMLLC’s and then have both LLC’s take title to the replacement property? Would that be the correct structuring? Thanks!

Bonus depreciation recapture and 1031 exchange
If I sell a STR that I took bonus depreciation on, does doing a 1031 exchange defer the bonus depreciation recapture? Thanks!
