12 contributions to AI for Senior Adults
My 100-Year-Old Mum’s Daily Tech Routine (And Why This Group Exists!)
If you ever need proof that curiosity has no use-by date, let me introduce you to my favourite inspiration: my 100-year-old mum. See her below at her 100th birthday party on the 6th July 2026. Every single day, she puts most of us to shame with her routine. She makes sure she hits 1,000 steps and completes a series of daily exercises to keep her body moving. Right alongside her physical fitness, she gives her brain a proper workout—and her secret weapon is her iPad. At 100 years old, she is on her iPad every day. I couldn't be prouder of how she embraces technology to keep her mind sharp and her world big. She's a lifelong learner who still loves discovering new things and regularly watches educational videos on YouTube. She also likes to stay connected with friends and family, so she checks Facebook to see what they've been up to. Between digital mahjong, word games and number puzzles, she never lets her mind sit still and loves playing brain games in her books and on her iPad. Watching my mum thrive with her iPad opened my eyes to something important: there are way too many seniors out there who aren't using technology at all, often because it feels intimidating or overwhelming. My mum is one of the main reason I started the AI for Senior Adults community. If she can master her iPad at 100, any of us can learn how to use modern tools to make our lives richer, easier, and more fun. My goal is to take the mystery out of AI and show you practical ways it can help your daily life—whether that’s learning a new hobby, organising your day, or staying sharp. If you know another senior who is sitting on the tech sidelines and could benefit from what we’re doing here, please pass this group along to them! What was the last new thing you learned online this week? Drop it in the comments below!

Turn On Built-In "Live Captions" So Every Video and Phone Call Displays Subtitles
Good morning everyone! We just added 10 brand-new step-by-step Google Gemini guides across all 10 of our Subject Classrooms this morning. See the titles of all 10 new classroom posts waiting for you inside the Classroom tab at the end of this post: Turn On Built-In "Live Captions" So Every Video and Phone Call Displays Subtitles The Key Benefit: When a fast-talking receptionist, doctor's office, or family member calls from a noisy room—or when a video on your phone doesn't have subtitles—straining to catch every word is exhausting. Modern smartphones (especially Google Pixel, Samsung Galaxy, and iPhone) and Chrome browsers have a hidden superpower called Live Captions that automatically transcribes any voice call or video into large, easy-to-read text right on your screen in real time! With Google Gemini, you can turn it on in three taps. What You Will Get & Save: You save yourself from the embarrassment of asking people to repeat themselves three times and catch every single name, date, and phone number during important calls. How to Do It (3 Simple Steps): 1. Open Google Gemini on your smartphone, tablet, or computer. 2. Copy and paste this prompt, naming your device: 3. "In 3 simple, non-technical steps, tell me exactly how to turn on 'Live Caption' (including for phone calls) on my [Google Pixel 10 Pro / Samsung Galaxy / iPhone / Chrome computer browser], and show me how to make the caption text box larger on my screen." Flip the Live Caption switch on in Accessibility or Sound settings and watch your screen caption the very next video or phone call automatically! Congratulations & Show It Off! You just unlocked one of the most helpful accessibility features ever built into a smartphone! Show your spouse, siblings, or friends how Live Captions work on your phone today, and let us know how you like it in the Skool comments! All 10 New Classroom Guides Added Today (Now Live in the Classroom Tab):

How I Use AI to Survive Daily Life in China!
Staring at a washing machine entirely in Chinese used to be a nightmare—until I started using this simple AI phone trick. Don't let the language barrier stop you from exploring the world! When every button on an appliance is in Chinese, doing something as simple as laundry can feel impossible. In this video, I show you how I use Google Translate's live camera AI feature to instantly translate washing machine controls into English so I can pick the 15-minute wash and spin cycle without any guesswork. #ChinaVlog #chinatravel #aiforseniors

Snap Shelf Tags to See if the "Family Value Size" Is Actually Costing You More
The Key Benefit: Supermarkets and food brands love stamping "FAMILY VALUE SIZE!" on giant boxes and bottles—knowing most shoppers won't pull out a calculator to divide 28.5 ounces into $8.49 vs. two 16-ounce jars on sale for $3.99 each. With photo uploads in Google Gemini, you can snap a single photo of the shelf tags (or ask out loud) and let Gemini calculate the exact price-per-ounce in three seconds so "shrinkflation" never fools you again. What You Will Get & Save: You save $15 to $35 on every grocery run, avoid buying bulky packages that aren't even a discount, and skip doing frustrating decimal math in the store aisle. How to Do It (3 Simple Steps): When comparing two different package sizes or multi-pack deals in the grocery aisle, open the Google Gemini app on your phone. Snap a photo of the shelf price tags (or type the weights and prices) and use this prompt: "Compare these two grocery options for me: Option A is [16 oz for $3.99] and Option B is the 'Value Size' [28 oz for $7.79]. Calculate the exact price per ounce for both and tell me in one clear sentence which one is the better deal." Grab the true lowest-cost-per-ounce winner and keep the difference in your wallet! Congratulations & Show It Off! You just beat supermarket "shrinkflation" at its own game! Next time you spot a "Value Size" box that actually costs more per ounce than the regular size, snap a photo and share your discovery with your fellow savvy shoppers in the Skool comments right here! Create a Printable Guest Wi-Fi Sign So Visiting Family Never Have to Type Your Password
Good morning everyone! We just added 10 brand-new step-by-step Google Gemini guides across all 10 of our Subject Classrooms this morning. See the titles of all 10 new classroom posts waiting for you inside the Classroom tab at the end of this post: Create a Printable Guest Wi-Fi Sign So Visiting Family Never Have to Type Your Password The Key Benefit: Every time children, grandchildren, or friends come over to visit, someone inevitably asks, "What's your Wi-Fi password?"—sending you crawling behind the television cabinet with a flashlight to read a 16-character string of tiny letters and numbers off the back of your router. With Google Gemini, you can learn how to generate a clean, printable "Guest Wi-Fi QR Card" right from your phone settings in three clicks so guests can simply point their phone camera at a small framed card on your table and connect instantly! What You Will Get & Save: You save yourself from hunting for router stickers, avoid spelling out complicated passwords across the room, and impress your grandkids with a modern "hotel-style" Wi-Fi sign. How to Do It (3 Simple Steps): Open Google Gemini on your smartphone, tablet, or computer. Copy and paste this prompt, naming your phone type: "In 3 simple, non-technical steps, show me how to open my Wi-Fi settings on my [Android / Google Pixel / iPhone] and tap the built-in 'Share Wi-Fi QR Code' button so I can screenshot and print a small Guest Wi-Fi card for my entryway table." Print your QR code card, pop it into a small $2 tabletop picture frame by your entryway or guest room, and test it with your phone camera! Congratulations & Show It Off! Wait until your kids and grandkids walk in and see your framed Guest Wi-Fi scan card—they will be asking YOU how you set it up! Share a photo of your guest sign in the Skool comments and show a friend how easy it is!
