Box 4500, Allen, TX 75013 - TransUnion -- P.O. Box 2000, Chester, PA 19016 Always send disputes via certified mail with return receipt requested. This gives you proof of delivery, which matters if things escalate. **Free Credit Report Sites** - AnnualCreditReport.com -- The only official site authorized by federal law. Start here. You can pull all 3 bureau reports for free weekly. - IdentityIQ -- Provides all 3 reports with FICO scores (paid trial, useful for monitoring) - SmartCredit -- Detailed report access with score tracking **Key Links** - CreditShield.app -- Upload your report, get your AI analysis, generate dispute letters - CFPB Complaint Portal -- consumerfinance.gov/complaint (file complaints against bureaus, creditors, or collectors who violate your rights) - FTC Identity Theft Resources -- identitytheft.gov (if you suspect identity theft is affecting your credit) **Recommended Supplies** If you're sending disputes by mail (which we recommend for certain situations covered in the course), you'll want: - Certified mail envelopes (available at USPS or online) - Return receipt cards (USPS green cards, or use electronic return receipt) - Access to a printer (for letters and supporting documents) - A simple filing system to track what you sent, when, and to whom **In the Classroom** Everything is laid out in order in the Classroom tab. Start with Module 1 and work through at your own pace. Each module builds on the last. *This is educational information, not legal advice. You have the right to dispute inaccurate, unverifiable, or incomplete items on your credit report directly with the credit bureaus at no cost. Results vary based on individual circumstances.*

What are you working toward?
Let's start with the big picture. What's the credit goal that brought you here? Maybe it's buying your first home. Maybe it's getting approved for a car without a cosigner. Maybe you're tired of getting denied for apartments. Maybe you want to start a business and need funding. Or maybe you just want to stop feeling anxious every time credit comes up. Whatever it is, drop it below. There's no goal too big or too small. When you share your goal, you'll probably find someone else in here working toward the exact same thing. That's the power of community -- you don't have to figure this out alone. So, what are you working toward?

Welcome — start here
Welcome to CreditShield Academy. This community is for people who are tired of being told their credit is "just bad" and want to actually understand the system — and use it. Here's what to do in your first 10 minutes: 1) Introduce yourself — drop a comment on the pinned "Introduce Yourself" thread. Tell us: • Your first name • What you're working on (homebuying, debt recovery, just curious) • One thing about credit you wish you understood better 2) Open Module 1, Lesson 1: "How Credit Scores Actually Work" (Classroom tab → Module 1 → Lesson 1). It's 6 minutes. By the end you'll know more about FICO than 90% of the people you know. 3) Bookmark the Calendar tab — we run a live community Q&A every week. Bring real questions about real items on your real reports. A note on what we are and aren't: We're an education + community resource. We're not a credit repair organization. We don't fix your credit for you. We teach you how the system works and what your rights are under federal law (FCRA, FDCPA, FCBA, FACTA, ECOA, CARD Act). What you do with that knowledge is up to you. If at some point you'd rather hand off the analysis-and-letter-writing part to AI, the CreditShield app (creditshield.app) does exactly that and pairs nicely with what you'll learn here. There's a free Scan tier to start. Members of this community get founding-member pricing on paid tiers (locked at the founding rate for life). Glad you're here. — Leny Founder, CreditShield
