If you are building on Skool
and you are not engaging inside Skoolers and other Skool communities, you are missing out. I just checked my data. Last 30 days: 74 signups. 58 of them came from the Skool network. Not YouTube. Not ads. Not some complex funnel. Skool. This is the exact data I am now using to adjust my 12 Week Year. I originally thought I needed to grow YouTube to bring in new Skool members. That was the plan. Optimize thumbnails. Study retention. Push harder. It's been a brutal 8 weeks! But the numbers told a different story. I can add new members here, inside Skool, far more efficiently. I am in flow. It is working better than I expected. So now I see clearly: the time I was so worried about optimizing YouTube needs to be spent creating strong videos for my classroom. I can't wait for this section of my Skool to come alive! Those videos can still live on YouTube. But YouTube is not the end game. The classroom is. Community is. If you are on the Hobby plan like I am, that is okay. That is a financial decision. You do not need the highest tier to grow. You need time to collect data and clarity on what is actually working. Data removes emotion. Data sharpens focus. For me right now, Skool is the growth engine. Are you building where your numbers are pointing you?

Great perspective shift on the YT videos! That's how I see them too, for my community but also as attraction mechanisms on the platform as well.

My sign ups are coming from ads right now, which is working for me because I don't have a lot of time to grow traffic in other ways.

Are you a Skool owner? What have you built so far? What is actually working? What totally surprised you? Where are you trying to go next? Drop it below and then reply to at least one other person. Ask them a question. Share something that helped you. We grow faster when we compare notes instead of guessing alone.

@Sybil Hall I saw someone work out the math once... It's about $1000 before it's better to switch from hobby to pro

What video editing software are you using right now? Vote below, and if you picked Other, drop it in the comments. I’m always curious what tools people actually stick with. Bonus points if you comment below with the editor you use to turn longer-form videos into shorts. Feel free to drop affliate links if you truly love the product!

@Lise Lively yes I think so. You edit from the text so it's pretty fast and I like the AI generation stuff to help make shorts from the long form.
