with Brandy Grace Y’all, I am so excited to finally begin this journey with you! I created Life Lessons with Dolly because Dolly Parton’s story has always reminded me of something I deeply believe: Where you start does not get to decide where you finish. Dolly came from a tiny cabin in the mountains of Tennessee with big dreams, a whole lot of determination, and a willingness to remain herself even when the world told her who she should be. And that is where we’re starting too. 🍋 WEEK 1: WHERE YOU START ISN’T WHERE YOU HAVE TO STAY This week we’re talking about our beginnings—the families, places, struggles, dreams, and experiences that shaped us. I’ll also be sharing a piece of my own Beyond Lemonade story. I grew up in a trailer park, and for a long time I thought success meant getting as far away from that life as possible. I raised two children while earning two bachelor’s degrees and a master’s degree, built a successful career in sports medicine, became a bestselling author…and then Multiple Sclerosis changed the life I had worked so hard to build. Turns out, some of the biggest lessons weren’t in escaping where I came from. They were in understanding what it taught me. This week inside the classroom, you’ll find: 🎶 A Dolly song to listen to with fresh ears 🎥 A Dolly interview and lesson 🍋 My personal Beyond Lemonade story ✍️ Reflection and journal prompts 💛 A Heart-Work exercise to help you look at your own beginning differently 🥧 And because I cannot teach a Dolly course without feeding y’all — Cuppa Cuppa Cuppa Cake! You don’t need to finish everything at once. There’s no falling behind here. Make yourself a cup of coffee, find a comfortable spot, and take what you need from this week. Because maybe the place you spent your whole life trying to get away from also gave you some of the strength you needed to become who you are. Welcome to Week 1, y’all. 🌼🍋 Let’s find out what Dolly can teach us about becoming ourselves. — Brandy Grace ( yes AI created picture, I didn’t get time to see Dolly in real life, only in my soul)
