Thanks! It was my first animation session, was definitely trying to slow my breathing, super nervous. Right after I was done, I was fine. And then we did round 2 which I was NOT prepared for 🤦🏿♂️

@Kittie KaBoom I DID notice the "spark" slip, and out of the 25 ish (no exaggeration, haha) times I've recorded it, that's the only time it happened- that was also the only time I stressed "spark" in that way. the other takes, I saved the anger/clenched teeth for the "before. it catches. fire" Thank you! I'll be posting more in the coming days 😉

Creativity and Characters I think, with the dream to hear my voice in a show or game!- the last 2 months have been fun. Only 1 commercial booking, but I'm starting to dabble with characters. I listed some characteristic of a character architype and had ChatGPT make a couple sample scripts/monologues so I could practice. Hoping to add those demos to my VDC profile soon.

@Kittie KaBoom Thanks, I'm sure I'll reach out soon. My commercial auditions have slowed down, and I feel just like w/commercial, a good way to practice is constant auditions and posting in the community for feedback.

Growing or Wilting🥀 ?
Here are 3 mistakes killing your voice over growth (and how to fix them) 1. Not BECOMING what you say you wanna be. Watch cartoons, YouTube interview videos with VO actors, read articles on the genre, learn THE GREATS in the biz. 2. Not creating a roster. You always need to show range, so create a 6 year old little boy voice, an 80 year old man voice, a smart mouthed teenager voice, a monster, a gnat and an announcer on the loudspeaker @ Wal-Mart. 3. Not drinking enough water & practicing. Drink water water water water and then some more WATER! (Sometimes with lemon 🍋). How do you know if you sound how you are aiming to sound if you don’t say it out loud? You aspire to be an audio book VO? Read out loud for an entire hour! If you are bored, distracted, irritated or just plain not into it, this genre is probably NOT for you. That’s the only way to find out!!!

@Kittie KaBoom I'm in another community where we have weekly peer sessions and coach each other, and there are a couple coaches that we get to have a few mins with each week, on a first come first serve sign up, just to get a little polishing. We could book official coaching from them, if needed. I did a 30min session with a coach, but I'm basically watching others' playbacks right now and coaching off of that for now
