The Living Room Changelog — What's Shipping
One running post to track what's new here, updated as things ship. Bookmark this one. Why a changelog: this community is genuinely early, and that's the point — you're seeing it built in real time, not handed a finished product. This is where that evolution stays visible. 📦 Since launch: • Start Here orientation — 7 lessons • Free Yourself: Introductory Class — 7 lessons • Monthly Toolkit #1: Beginner AI Starter Kit — prompt library + workbook download • 8 Community categories live I'll add to this list as new toolkits, classes, and features land — and drop a comment below each time so it shows up in your feed too. If there's something you'd want to see built next, say so here.
I Built The Living Room Because I Needed It Too
Let me be honest with you before I say anything else. I am not someone who built a community because I had everything figured out. I built it because I kept showing up to my own life with a notebook full of ideas and no real place to take them. For a long time, survival was the whole plan. Not thriving. Not building. Just making it through the week. I have been a special needs parent, navigating systems that were not designed with people like us in mind. I have been managing fibromyalgia and long COVID in a body that does not always cooperate with what my mind wants to do. I went through divorce. I did the single parenting thing. I carried all of it, mostly quietly, mostly alone, and I kept telling myself that I would build the thing I wanted to build once life settled down. Life did not settle down. It just changed shape. At some point I stopped waiting for the calm and started asking a different question. Not "when will I have the time and energy for this?" but "what does building something actually look like for someone in my real life, with my real capacity, in my real season?" That shift is what I now call my Phoenix Era. Not a glow-up. Not a rebrand. Just a genuine, sometimes messy, decision to stop pretending I was going to get back to who I used to be and start building something that fits who I am now. And here is what I kept seeing as I started doing that work. I kept running into people who were exactly where I had been. Caregivers with real creative visions who could not figure out how to start. People managing chronic illness who had been told, in a hundred different ways, that building something was for people with more energy, more money, more time. Over-40 folks who had been through the fire of divorce, job loss, health crises, or caregiving and were sitting on meaningful ideas they had never been given permission to take seriously. Small-brand owners who needed a room to think out loud, not another course to complete alone. They were not stuck because they lacked ideas. They were stuck in the gap between knowing what they wanted and actually starting.

I Built The Living Room Because I Needed It Too
The Living Room has a 24/7 member: Phoenix AI
When your classmates are offline, when it's late, when you're stuck on an assignment and don't want to wait, Phoenix AI is here. It's built around one question: Where do I start? Use it for your homework. Use it to practice AI without pressure. Use it to think out loud when you need to process before you're ready to post. No AI experience required. No judgment. Just tell Phoenix what you're working on and it'll help you find one realistic next step. https://app.uare.ai/p/brandidawsonking

What's coming here (rhythm, not a fixed schedule yet)
No confirmed dates yet — wanted to be upfront about what's planned rather than leave this category looking empty. Once the community has enough people to make it worthwhile, expect a light, sustainable rhythm: • A monthly Build-With-Me session — co-working, live Q&A, or a specific project worked through together • Occasional office hours / open Q&A • Replay notes posted here afterward for anyone who couldn't make it live What this won't be: daily posting pressure or multiple weekly calls. This is built for real-life capacity, including mine. Want a say in format or timing once we're closer? Comment below — coffee hour, co-working session, and open Q&A are all on the table.

Introduce yourself (no resume required)
Skip the credentials. Tell us the stuff that actually makes you, you. • What's been on repeat lately — a song, a show, a meal, a thought you can't shake? • What are you building, healing, or just getting through right now? • One thing that would make someone go "oh, I like this person" within five minutes of meeting you. This category is for the everyday stuff — music, culture, wins, unfinished work, recommendations, whatever's actually going on. Low stakes, high welcome. Go ahead, say hi. 💜
