ADHD isn’t a focus problem, it’s a switching problem
I’ve been observing how ADHD shows up differently for people, and one thing keeps standing out. It’s not that we can’t focus. It’s that our focus doesn’t always move when we want it to. Some days you can lock in for hours on something interesting, solve problems quickly, think clearly… then struggle to start something simple like replying to a message or doing a basic task you already understand. That disconnect can feel frustrating, especially when others assume it’s just “lack of discipline” or “being distracted”. I’m curious how it shows up for others here: • What does your ADHD actually feel like on a normal day? • What situations make it harder to “switch gears”? • And what helps you get unstuck when your brain refuses to move? Would be great to hear real experiences rather than the usual stereotypes
