My name is Blake Sims. I'm definitely more of a musician than a producer but I want to record some songs that are important to me and publish them. My goal isn't to be famous but to try and help others by sharing music and lyrics that have been therapeutic to me. I know it sounds cheesy but that's the truth. Most of my songs are too lengthy to be radio friendly anyways. I've always wanted to produce my own music but didn't have the financial means to get the equipment needed or pay someone else to do it. I've finally got a little studio in my house with some quality gear. I used GarageBand most of last year and finally upgraded to Logic. I've been able to get some good mixes with my instruments but my vocal production is struggling. There are so many different ways to do things that I get overwhelmed on which way is "right". I'm hoping I can get a grasp on that here. I'll share a song I recorded myself without this course. The goal is to share an updated version down the road that shows some growth in my mixing and production.
