Least used tool
This is actually a hard question for me. For context I’m a general contractor who has made several one time purchases of various tools just to get the job done. I understand that this question was posed in the woodworking sense so that rules out a handful. So I am going to say my feather board for my router table probably sees the least amount of use. Doesn’t even make a decent hammer in a pinch.

Merry Christmas everyone, another year is quickly coming to an end. I fell a cedar a few years back and didn’t want it to be added to the firewood pile so I made a table and benches. A couple mortise and tenon joints on both benches with a water based poly finish on the table top and oil based poly on the benches. I’m not a master in woodworking but I’ve been in the trades my entire life. My goal is to learn more joints and the appropriate time to use them. I have a decent back log of completed projects and will try to be as active as possible, feel free to reach out and teach me something. Enjoy the rest of your day.

@Donald Timmins Can’t agree more! I have some redwood down that I can’t wait to make something out of.
Not a cabinet builder but sometimes the job calls for it.
As the guy that built them, I saw so many flaws to the point I almost told the client I’m going to go get some pre made boxes. But in the end they were extremely happy with them and I realized I’m more critical of myself than anyone else will ever be. Guess that’s why we are all here right, to get better? Happy Saturday everyone, hope everyone’s projects are going smoothly for them. Also side note, if anyone has ever built a desk I could use some pointers. Had a church commission me for one so now I’m on the hook😬

Heat resistant finish for a trivet
Merry Christmas everyone. Looking for some help. I had some nice walnut cutoffs that I made into a trivet for my wife. Now I’m looking for a heat resistant finish. I want the grain and colors to pop, but don’t want to darken the wood too much. Suggestions? And, no, this is not her Christmas present. Thanks

@Jim Goodloe Rockler makes a good hard wax if you have one near by. Not that expensive $20-$30 I think.
