One of the biggest mistakes newer comedians, speakers and storytellers make is “stepping on the laughs.” Getting a laugh is one skill. Knowing what to do AFTER the laugh is another. The audience needs room to react. To laugh. To process. To enjoy the moment YOU created. That’s why professionals don’t rush. They let the laugh breathe… manage the energy… then step back in at the right moment. Because comedy isn’t just joke writing. It’s rhythm. Timing. Patience. Confidence. And learning how to control the energy in the room. In my workshops and coaching I spend a LOT of time teaching not just how to GET laughs… but how to HANDLE them. That’s where the magic really starts happening.
