What feels hardest right now?
Most of us started a nonprofit because something in us cared deeply. A story. A calling. A community need. A moment that changed us. But somewhere after the vision boards and the excitement… we realized running a nonprofit takes more than heart. It takes structure, strategy, systems, and staying power. And that’s usually where the real weight shows up. So now that you’re on the journey, what’s weighing on you most right now? No pressure to explain, but you can in the comments. Just choose what feels true. You’re not alone in this. And you’re in the right room.

Board Building and Marketing/Visibility are a close 2nd and 3rd, but right now I really need to get to work on fundraising. I have Grant Station I just haven't made the time to use it.
Official Nonprofits
I hope everyone is doing well! I wanted to take a poll survey and get some feedback in the comments. So after you answer the poll question, I would like to know from the 501c3’ers, what do you feel like you need in 2026 for your nonprofit? Oh yeah, money cannot be the answer because that’s a given.

A new board president. For the application, I was the president (just got approved this summer), but that obviously can’t continue. I’d also like to get a couple of additional board members to help with expanding our reach.
Charitable Solicitations Act - Registration Required
Let's make sure your nonprofit is legally compliant as it relates to soliciting. A Charitable Solicitations Act is a state law that requires charities to register with the state before they can solicit donations from the public. These laws aim to ensure transparency and accountability in fundraising by regulating how organizations collect funds and protect the public from fraud. While the specifics vary by state, these acts often require registration, periodic financial reporting, and may impose additional requirements for professional fundraisers or charitable sales promotions. States that do NOT require Charitable Solicitations Registration: - Delaware - Idaho - Indiana - Iowa - Montana - Nebraska - South Dakota - Vermont - Wyoming  Click here to find the department that you must register for, or the PDF is available for download. This is the resource provided by the IRS website.

great resource! I just saved it to remind me to re-register each year

@Cathy Anderson I’ll have to do that! Thanks for the tip.
Canva Pro FREEEEEEEE!!!
One of the fun things to do…ok I love it, but you can gather a volunteer(s) to help design your social media posts. Older youth up to 21 or so are great with this. Especially, leading up to GivingTuesday. Add a little ChatGPT and you have your content. Remember, you can batch produce and have 30 days worth of post in no time. My point is, use your FREE Canva Pro account. No more excuses. https://www.canva.com/canva-for-nonprofits/ Well, that leads to another video coming soon!

@Cathy Anderson I need to work on my video editing skills. It would allow me to drop my Loom subscription.
