Actors Wisdom for Wednesday!
Chasing perfection can stop us from taking risks, creating freely, or even starting at all. Imperfections are often what makes ideas and creative work feel authentic, interesting and human — while ā€œperfectā€ can feel safe, predictable and ultimately forgettable. So, let's embrace imperfections in our acting, writing or any type of creation we pursue.

@Guy Allon I believe trying to be perfect and thinking too much into it ends up causing us to get in our own way as artists.

@Guy Allon Yes absolutely. I definitely resonate with this as part of my acting journey.

If we pray for the ā€œrainā€ which are the big roles, the recognition, the breakthrough then we also have to accept the ā€œmudā€: rejection, tough auditions, criticism, long periods of waiting, and hard graft. The messy, uncomfortable parts of the journey aren’t signs we're failing, they’re proof we're in the process. Trust the process like Denzel did.

Actors Thoughts for Thursdays!
With Meryl Streep's film already hitting the cinema screens her quote implies that authenticity is our greatest asset; once we prioritise external approval, we sacrifice the unique truth that makes our performance compelling. This serves as a reminder to remain grounded in our character's perspective and our own artistic instincts, rather than being distracted by the "noise" or judgments of the audience and critics. Thanks Meryl!

With the renewed spotlight on Michael Jackson ahead of the upcoming biopic Michael, it’s a great moment to revisit one of his words that speak directly to artists and performers. ā€œI’m never pleased with anything. I’m a perfectionist. It’s part of who I am.ā€ Which could easily translate to healthy dissatisfaction can drive growth — but let it fuel us first, not consume us.

This is why he became the iconic, legendary artist he was because of this mindset ā˜ŗļø @Guy Allon

acting isn’t just performing lines it’s a deeply human exchange. When a director, writer, or fellow actor invites you into their ā€œdream,ā€ they’re trusting you to help bring something personal and imaginative to life, often exposing emotions and vulnerabilities along the way. It highlights that acting is built on trust, sensitivity, and responsibility, therefore you’re not just playing a role, you’re safeguarding and expressing someone else’s inner world.
