✝️In a recent post I wrote that the enemy has no problem telling us who we are not..He also reminds us of negative traits we have, mistakes we've made and what not...This can stir up a troubled soul! 🌅This morning in my reading I was immediately drawn to Psalm 42:5...it seems David experienced the same thing! So what did he do?? He sang out loud TO his soul (his inner self as he calles it). He sings this: "Whay are you cast down, O my inner self? And why should you moan over me and be disuieted within me? HOPE in God and WAIT expectantly for Him, for I shall yet prasie Him, My help and my God." - AMP Here’s what David did NOT DO in this situation that most people do: 👉He did not let his feelings define him. - Most people accept discouragement as their identity (“I’m just depressed,” “I’m stuck like this”). David acknowledged his feelings but separated them from his true self. 👉He did not spiral deeper. - Many of us rehearse negativity, turning it over in our minds and letting it grow. David interrupted that cycle with questions and faith. 👉He did not stay silent. - Most people bottle up emotions. David spoke to his own soul out loud, redirecting it toward God. 👉He did not seek escape in distractions - Instead of numbing himself with worldly fixes (food, entertainment, people’s approval), he leaned into God as his source. 👉He did not let despair have the last word. - He prophesied to himself in song— “I shall yet praise Him.” He spoke hope into his future instead of letting his present control the narrative. 🔑🔓 In short: David didn’t deny his feelings, but he refused to bow to them. He acknowledged them, challenged them, and then redirected his soul toward hope, expectancy, and praise. ✨ I believe we can be just like David in our pursuit of God. The enemy tried to weigh him down with negative thoughts and emotions—but David knew how to fight back! Instead of letting discouragement win, he spoke truth and hope over his soul. 💪 🔥 Is there something stirring in you today that you need to speak life and prophecy into?
