Is India set to be the world's next top coffee producer?
Anyone seen anything in regard to this news? https://www.gcrmag.com/is-india-set-to-be-the-worlds-next-top-coffee-producer/

I'm quite curious to see the future of coffee in India, since it historically has had an earthy, spicy, musky/musty taste. It would be amazing if they could start growing some seriously bright, juicy, acidic, sweet coffee, and they have such and insane amount of land above 1000m so it suits specialty coffee well.

@Pradeep Javedar I'd love to try some soon. Hopefully I'll be back in India this winter.
The Coffee Nomad Who Refuses to Settle - Benjamin Sand
Our very own SCC long standing member Benjamin Sand has built a life without borders - travelling the world, writing about good food and specialty coffee, and proving that purpose can be found anywhere. In this episode, I explore what happens when curiosity becomes a career and freedom becomes home. - How Benjamin’s global childhood shaped a life of movement and meaning - The moment he swapped the music industry for coffee storytelling - What the rise of Asian specialty coffee really looks like on the ground - The trade-off between freedom, belonging, and building a career - Why being “spoiled for the ordinary” might be the best way to live Absolutely loved this convo with Benjamin. Enjoy!

Was great fun Nicky!
Geisha From Anywhere But Panama...
So Panama Geisha is of course one of the most hotly hyped and most talked about coffee, famous for it's flavour profile and also obscene costs at some recent auctions. However, Geisha is grown in many countries all over the world. What are some other's that you have tried and loved? I just had this clean, sweet, citrusey geisha from Peru this morning at The Artisan in Copenhagen. Lovely stuff!

@Nicky Hughes They seem to sell it in Ireland, as I said, it's not cheap tho: https://www.sumocoffeeroasters.com/product-page/geisha-natural-r%C3%ADo-cofre-colombia And this looks cheaper, who knows what the quality is like: https://www.ethicalorigin.ie/product/geisha/

Speaking of Geisha, it wasn't my intention to have some today but I checked out a new spot in Copenhagen called LOKAL, run by a Brit, and he recommended it highly. I don't need much arm-twisting when it comes to Geisha. This was super intense on the stonefruit and citrus. A lovely cup all the way down to cool temperatures.
Here’s a story from one of our own…
Every so often, someone in this community reminds us what passion and purpose really look like. This week on my podcast, I sat down with Robert Hamilton, one of our own foundational members, to talk about his extraordinary journey. Robert’s story begins in Scotland, where he left school at 15, became a lifeguard, then built multiple swim schools from scratch. Fast forward to today, he’s living in Dubai, blending a lifelong mission to save lives with a daily ritual that keeps him grounded - coffee. It’s a conversation about change, reinvention, and how a single cup can be so much more than caffeine. Strap in tight and enjoy this rip roaring yarn over a nice coffee. Enjoy! https://youtu.be/iBFDwD3PBAo?si=i9uZwFFg1onDUinb

Great video Rob and Nicky! Loved the part about Espresso, because I am mostly a filter coffee drinker, but there are some INSANE espresso's going around now with light-roast beans. Brings out all the flavour notes you love but just INTENSE. As you said in the video. There is a Japanese guy here in Copenhagen called Nobu who worked at Prolog, and he "invented" a way of doing espresso on 5-6 bars pressure, way lower than normal, and pulling longer shots. They basically are just insane intense flavour bombs made with acidic or fruity juicy light roasts. Totally dynamite. Not the typical thick, syrupy, dark roast espresso we're all used to. Another fave of mine doing something similar is Moon Phases in Bangkok. Same deal, low bar, lungo-style shots, expressive as hell. So if I'm at spots doing that, I'm having an espresso too. Can't wait to check out the scene in Dubai, hopefully this winter.
What’s your favorite cup of coffee?
What kind of coffee y'all like to drink? For me, after waking up and drinking some water to fuel the system, I like to go to a mom&pop shop and order a cortado - those always hit the spot! Love that steamed milk and that strong espresso at the bottom!

@Eliseo Garrido Due to travelling I use plastic actually. So I can't really comment on those two.
