Every "yes" to the wrong thing is a "no" to the right thing.
Not every opportunity is YOUR opportunity. One of the biggest focus killers isn't laziness, it's saying yes to too many things that look good but don't align with where you're actually going. A new side project. A favor that turns into a time drain. A "partnership" that produces nothing. Start pre-qualifying opportunities the same way you pre-qualify leads. Does this move me toward my goal? If not, it's a polite no. "Every 'yes' to the wrong thing is a 'no' to the right thing. Protect your goals by ruthlessly filtering opportunities." What's something you're currently saying yes to that you know you should say no to? You don't have to answer publicly but be honest with yourself.
