🌊 The Truth About Sea Level Rise — Without the Panic
🌍 THE TRUTH ABOUT SEA LEVEL RISE Sea levels are rising. That is real. The rate of global sea-level rise has roughly doubled since the early satellite era, driven mainly by warming oceans, melting glaciers and the loss of ice from Greenland and Antarctica. But this does NOT mean that every island and coastal city is about to disappear. The reality is slower — but still serious. 🌊 What happens first? Long before many places are permanently underwater, they can experience: • More frequent coastal flooding • Stronger impacts from storm surges • Coastal erosion • Saltwater entering groundwater and farmland • Increasing damage to homes and infrastructure • Rising costs to protect vulnerable communities 🏝️ Small, low-lying islands are especially vulnerable. Some islands do not need to completely disappear beneath the ocean to become difficult to live on. Repeated flooding, erosion and contamination of freshwater can make communities increasingly vulnerable long before the land itself is permanently submerged. 🌆 Coastal cities and river deltas also face growing risks. Hundreds of millions of people live in low-lying coastal regions around the world. But the solution is not simply: “Evacuate the coast.” Humans can adapt. Sea walls, improved drainage, restored mangroves and wetlands, stronger building standards, better warning systems and smarter urban planning can dramatically reduce risk. In some of the most exposed locations, however, communities may eventually need to relocate. ⏳ The biggest issue is the timeline. This is not an overnight apocalypse. Sea-level rise is a process unfolding over decades and centuries. What humanity does about greenhouse-gas emissions today will strongly influence how severe the problem becomes later this century and beyond. So there are two mistakes we should avoid: ❌ “Nothing is happening. Everything will be fine.” and ❌ “The entire coastline is about to disappear. Panic.” The truth is between those extremes. Climate change is real. Sea-level rise is real. The risks are serious. But humanity still has time to adapt, prepare and reduce how bad those consequences become.

Complete bollocks. Antarctica grew in ice by 500 trillion tons. Climate change is such a lie.
