Number System?
Coach C: In an X&O Labs document... they have an article (authored by you) that references a count system for your wide zone. It reads: By Mike Kuchar with Nick CoduttiHead CoachFulshear High School (TX)@coachcodutti Fulshear is not a tempo team, so he doesn’t track the zone. Instead, he relies on teaching a numbers system. “We talk about 1, 2, 3, and 4,” he said. “The offensive line is responsible for first linebacker weak if we’re running wide zone weak. If we run wide zone strong, the offensive line knows we are in charge of number two because the FB/TE is responsible for number one strong.” Is this just a smoke screen? I haven't seen anything in here about a number system, so I was wondering if this was just to lead opponents astray? Appreciate any insight! I'll attach a rough copy of the report...

I may not be able to make call... most likely on the replay. But wondering if Mid-Zone is something you teach as an adjustment based on numbers/techniques you get in box. As a new guy to Wide Zone, I have come across resources that teach Mid-Zone since it's easier than wide zone, but I don't have a mastery of either, so I'm not sure how/why people say that, and how it fits (if at all).
Colt/Cobra vs Carolina/Cleveland?
Where can I find the differences between Colt/Cobra and Carolina/Cleveland spelled out? Thanks guys.

Nick / Crew: Perhaps my question is 'related'. Perhaps I missed it... but... I'm struggling with building a concrete 'rule' set for identifying the front or the Mike.... Why? In some of the videos, I've seen the Mike identified as the Inside/Backside Linebacker. Also, I've seen it as the Inside/Playside Linebacker. Also, the Overhang LB hovering on the TE has been identified as the Mike. So... this his how I'm trying to make sense in my head. 1. The Mike is always the Playside/Inside Linebacker, unless we have to push the front. 2. In odd fronts, with an Overhand on the LB on the TE, we have to push and make the overhang the Mike 3. If we have a fullback/H in the mix, and we Lead on the the overhang (BOSS call), then we -1 the Mike, and go back to the playside/inside? Combos: 1. We start all combos beginning with the Center, and work out, play side. If the combo dictates the Center works backside, the Mike is backside/inside. If the front dictates the combo with playside Guard, then the Mike is on the inside/playside. Tell me I'm making this too complicated. LOL

Heck yeah! I’m IN!
Your First Wide Shoot Rule
If a rule needs an exception, it’s not a rule yet. The Wide Shoot is built on simple rules that hold up against pressure. As we go, everything ties back to that idea. Drop your level, position, and experience with the system below so I know how to help you best.

Introduction: Ben Startzer - HFC at Northfield HS, Denver Colorado. 125 kids in program, school of 2300. We've been successful as a Gun Wing T team with conference championships and playoff runs... but we just got bumped into the toughest league in highest division in the state. I'm looking for a more adaptive system for our personnel - and a system that has been proven to work regardless of personnel (aka Denver Broncos Shanahan Running Backs). We also have run Run 'n Shoot concepts, so that is attractive here. Can't wait to get started!
