As a coach, it isn't your obligation to have all the answers and solve all his problems. You need to ask him enough questions, if not direct, indirect, straight forward, and upside down for him to get to what he thinks is the problem. Thereafter to brainstorm perhaps together what the solution can be. From this last response it seems that he is dealing with some big trauma and may need to be referred to a therapist. Additionally, I think that being in bed for 2 hours before he falls asleep can be the cause for his waking up. I would suggest at first that he should arrange his bedtime to when he is tired enough to fall asleep quickly. What is your take on this?
