Skill 5
Wow! This was a massive learning experience for us and we have lots of work to do before this one is even close to comfortable but here are some of our attempts this week. @Loma Simmons

🐾REPLAY SKILL 5: LOOSE LEASH WALKING PART 2 🔥
Things are heating up, legends! 💪🏻 Today we talked about taking our loose leash walking skills into the REAL WORLD and what happens when we start pushing those thresholds! As we close the distance between our dogs and distractions, old habits can start creeping back in. Behaviours that have been reinforced in the past might suddenly reappear. And guess what? The same goes for YOU! Your nerves, tension and reactions can be just as conditioned as your dog's behaviour. Here's what we covered 👇🏻 🐾 Recognising thresholds – Understanding when your dog is approaching that point where old behaviours might take over. 🐾 Confidence down the lead – Being aware of your own tension, staying calm and acting with confidence. 🐾 Closing the gap – Gradually reducing distance from distractions without rushing the process. 🐾 Progress over perfection – Take your time! We're building a relationship and skills that last, not chasing a perfect walk. 🎥 AND PLEASE, POST THE MESSY VIDEOS! We don't just want to see your wins. Show us where you're struggling, where things fall apart and where you're unsure what to do next. That's where the REAL coaching happens! We're here to help you work through those moments, not just celebrate the good ones. 🏆 WILD DOGS ARE BACK ON THE BOARD! 🐕🔥 A MASSIVE congratulations to @Chris Bock & Jax, taking out the Week 4 win for the WILD DOGS! 🙌🏻 Seriously, what an incredible effort. Watching how far you two have come, the progress you've made and the relationship you've built is exactly what this challenge is all about. THAT is what working as a team looks like! ❤️ Well done, legends! So bloody proud of you both! The Jackals had better watch out... the Wild Dogs are coming! 🐕💪🏻 Watch the replay, get out there, challenge yourselves and keep those videos coming! Remember, we're not training for perfection. We're building dogs we can enjoy life with.

REPLAY 📢 Skill 3 - The Down
This week Matt and I talked through how to build a down your dog can actually relax in. We covered getting the position, rewarding while they’re still down, building duration, giving a clear “break,” and what to change when distractions make it harder. Huge congratulations to @Carina Herbert and Lenny for taking out Week 2 for the Jackals! That makes it 2–0. Enjoy it while you can, Jackals. The Wild Dogs are underdogs now, and we’re coming for you. 🐕🔥 Watch the replay, get your downs happening, and show your pack how you’re going!

SKILL 5 is live! 📢 Loose Leash Walking Part 2
Your dog is walking beautifully... and then another dog shows up. Sound familiar? 👀 That moment is what Skill 5 is all about, and it’s now live in the Classroom. In this one I’m Matts on the street with Ruby! Here’s the big lesson: your dog looking at another dog is fine. Your dog breaking position is okay too. What matters is whether you can get their attention back and keep walking. Inside the module: ✅ 5 drills, from walking towards a dog to the hardest pass of all ✅ Why your dog doesn’t need to say hello to every dog they see ✅ The most common mistakes and how to fix them ✅ Homework you can do with a training buddy OR on your own Your challenge this week: film a pass and post it in the community. Show us your dog noticing the other dog and you bringing them back. That recovery is the win we want to celebrate. 🙌 Have a question about the drills? Drop it in the comments below and I’ll answer it, or bring it to the next live. Let’s get to work! 💪

@Jennifer Mcfarlane @Jody Eldridge @Nath Morrison omg that would be beyond incredible but it’s a bit far. Thankfully my husband is home a couple of days this week so we will definitely have a try and see what happens when the pups are separated but close by… it’s been interesting in the past but hey they’ve been doing so incredibly well with everything else we’ve been doing… I think we will have to try this one in the yard a few times before taking it out in the wild 🤪

@Jody Eldridge it sounds good in theory, but previously we have not successfully walked them singly out together.. if that makes sense.. when we go out it’s kinda an all in or one on one game.. but that was before all of this awesome step by step training!
Ok it may 2-1 Jackals way but we are chasing them down 👊🏼🐾
All Wild Dogs make sure your video is in Skool today or I’ll be calling you out 🙏🏼👊🏼🤣
