6th coffee hour happened today and someone showed up and it made my whole morning. πŸ€—β˜•
Thank you from the bottom of my heart to the person who joined today. Your time is precious and I do not take that lightly. Our conversation was short but it was real and that is exactly what this space is about. One person showing up is not a small thing. It is everything. This is how community grows. One genuine connection at a time. πŸ™ If you have been thinking about joining, here are the next coffee hours coming up: July 18th July 25th August 1st You can always check our community calendar for the most up to date schedule. If anything changes on my end I will take it off the calendar right away so you always know what to expect. In person in Northbrook, Illinois or on Zoom from anywhere in the world. You are always welcome. β˜•πŸŒΏ Which of these upcoming dates could actually work for you? Drop it in the comments and let me know. I would love to see you there! πŸ’›

I have been thinking about something this week and I want to hear your perspective.
There are four areas that I believe truly nourish us at the deepest level: our relationships, our physical movement and vitality, our sense of purpose or calling, and our spiritual life. And every single time I have noticed myself reaching for things that do not satisfy, it has been because one of those four areas was running very low. John 6:35 says: β€œI am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.” That verse has always spoken to me about a completeness that physical things alone can never provide. Which of those four areas is most depleted for you right now? And what do you think it would take to begin nourishing it again?

I want to share something with you today that I think many of us need to hear.
You can do everything right for your health and still feel completely depleted. And I do not mean you need to add another habit. I mean sometimes the source of the depletion is not physical at all. Isaiah 40:31 says: β€œBut those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength.” That verse speaks to a kind of renewal that no supplement or routine was ever designed to provide. A strength that rises from the inside when the spirit finds something to hope in. Where do YOU feel the most depleted right now? And do you sense that it is physical, emotional, or spiritual? I am genuinely asking. Because knowing the true source of the depletion changes everything about what the next right step actually looks like.

Something from Matthew 4:4 has been echoing in my heart this week.
β€œMan shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.” I want to sit with you in this today. Have you ever felt that persistent longing where you are searching for something that never quite satisfies? Reaching for one more thing and still feeling empty afterward? That is exactly what this verse is speaking into. Our bodies need physical nourishment. That matters deeply. But there is a part of us that can only be fed by something the grocery store cannot provide. What is YOUR soul hungry for right now? And what is one small step you could take this week to begin feeding that hunger?

Something from 1 Corinthians 6 has been sitting with me all week.
β€œDo you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit?” I want to ask you something honest about that today. If you truly believed in the deepest part of you that your body was sacred, how would that change the way you talk to yourself when you look in the mirror? How would it change the small everyday choices you make about how you care for yourself? Because I think so many of us care for our bodies from a place of criticism or obligation. And I believe the invitation in Scripture is something completely different. What comes up for you when you sit with that verse? And where do you feel the most gap between how you see your body right now and how God might see it?
