Hello I'm Bear Gonzales fromCalifornia. I was working with at-risk youth, but I'm currently dealing with open wounds that's preventing me from working. My first part of my life was filled with violence. I was first arrested at 12 years old for sending 2 people to the hospital. Most of my teenage years was as a ward of the court in boys camps and ranches. Fortunately, during the 70s you could join the Army with a criminal record. I joined on my 17th birthday and I ended up in prison for violence. I got out of prison and I haven't returned in 45 years. This is why I work with at-risk youth. My greatest accomplishment working with them is that I was able to get 40 gang members safely get out of the gang lifestyle without fear of retaliation. Today they are doing well in life.
