@Joel Arnold I would fully agree yes. The longer the distance, the less kick that should be incorporated. Train with kick and race long without to save for the bike and run. Sprint and oly tri's I generally try to keep it consistent though. I've gotten calf cramps before on the swim, which is the only fear I have when kicking on distance events. For half's and full's I would argue that you only need to do enough to keep your body rotation and body line in check. LMK if that doesn't make sense and I can attempt to explain a different way.
