I’m 33 and I feel like I’m starting over…
I’m 33 years old, and some days it feels like I’m starting over. Ten years in the automotive industry. Years spent building income, learning sales, finance, leadership, and business. A house.A wife.A daughter.Responsibilities. And yet lately, I’ve found myself questioning everything. The hard truth is that success on paper doesn’t always mean fulfillment. Sometimes you wake up and realize the path you’ve been on isn’t the path you want to stay on. That’s where I am today. Not because I failed. Not because I gave up. Because I’m finally being honest with myself. Starting over at 33 feels terrifying. You compare yourself to people who seem further ahead. You wonder if you’re making a mistake. You worry about the money, the uncertainty, and whether you’re capable of building something new. But maybe starting over isn’t really starting over. Maybe it’s taking everything you’ve learned and applying it to a new chapter. The skills don’t disappear. The experiences don’t disappear. The lessons don’t disappear. You just carry them into the next season of your life. I don’t have all the answers right now. What I do know is this: I’d rather be scared while moving toward something that excites me than comfortable staying somewhere that drains me. If you’re in your 30s and feel like you’re starting over too, you’re not alone. Maybe we’re not starting over. Maybe we’re finally starting the part of the story we’re meant to write.
