Training Tips - Rear end awareness (free shaping)
Missed the live session? Here's the replay 👇 This one's a fun game you can start playing with your pup today. All you need is an upturned bucket and a handful of treats. On the surface it's a simple trick: front paws up on the bucket. But underneath, you're building three things at once: rear-end awareness (most dogs genuinely don't know where their back legs are!), confidence with their own body and new objects, and real engagement with you. Your dog learns to think, offer behaviours, and work with you instead of just following a treat around. And here's the bonus: once your dog can steer their own back end, this little bucket game becomes the foundation for a beautiful heel. You get a dog that knows how to line themselves up beside you instead of being dragged into position. In the replay I walk you through: - Getting those front paws up (and making the bucket the best game in the house) - The first pivot steps, and the "money moment" to watch for - How the game grows into heel position over time It's only a few minutes a day, it works indoors on a rainy arvo, and dogs absolutely love it. Your challenge this week: 2–3 three-minute sessions a day for the next 7 days. Film your progress and chuck it up here in the community, day 1 wobbles and all! Cheer each other on, share what's working, help each other troubleshoot. Let's see how far these pups come in a week 🐾🪣 Can't wait to see your videos! 🎉

I agree. Can this please be incorporated into the current Levels?
Level up
I need 9 points to level up please. I believe that I should only comment on comments that pertain to me so that I can help others.

For example, I like that some one introduced their dog to a grand child from a crate.
Awesome turn out to the first Community Pack Walk 🙌🏻

@Sian Isaac I was so glad that so many different breeds were able to get along even the breed that killed my cat on her property.

@Jennifer Mcfarlane Like wise . It was lovely to meet you. Thank you ever so much for introducing me to you. I am a truly shy person.
Progress
I feel that I will be chastised for this comment; however, I want the best for my dog. It seems that my leaderboard is not up to scratch for me to help my dog to progress. That is, comments and interactions seem to add points to my board and hence my ability to access what the expectations of each level are. I would like to build on what is being trained at Walkys, so that my dog is making progress. I believe that he is very intelligent and that it is me that needs assistance to help him make progress. I believe that more specific information of his level could assist me in his progress. Also, he has been attending Walkys for a significant time in terms of years and number of days each week. What is your expectation for his progress?

@Matthew Marsh I try to be consistent. I love my dog. I just want the best for him. I actually feel judged by your comment. I am sorry if you actually mean well by your comment. My dog is my buddy since my husband of 44 years has died.
