I keep seeing people asking about the best ways to trade, dropship or start a business using AI, and I think there’s something that deserves more attention: You still need to understand the thing you’re asking AI to help you do. AI can speed up the process massively. It can help you research, learn, build and automate. But you need enough understanding to recognise mistakes, question its suggestions and judge whether what you’re doing actually works. If you want to trade, learn the fundamentals and understand the risks. If you want to dropship, learn about your customers, products, suppliers and margins. Those things still matter when AI is involved. Automating a system doesn’t automatically make it a good system. Sometimes it just means repeating the same mistakes faster. And if you’re at the beginning of your AI journey, my biggest advice is to choose something you’re actually interested in and curious about. Give yourself a reason to keep learning beyond the promise of making money. That curiosity is what helps you ask better questions, experiment and keep going when something doesn’t work the first time. You don’t need to become an expert before opening ChatGPT or Claude. You can use AI to learn from day one. Just make sure you’re developing your own understanding along the way. Expecting a prompt to produce a profitable business that runs itself skips over the work of finding out whether the idea is any good. Learn the fundamentals. Test your ideas.
