WHAT'S THE BEST NEW PLUGIN YOU FOUND RECENTLY? đŸ§‘đŸŒâ€đŸ’»
As we approach Black Friday, let's make a list of all of the best new plugins to keep an eye out for. I'm a huge fan of the Cradle Audio plugins because of The God Particle (has been almost the only thing on my master channel for about 2 years now). It's the ultimate master bus sound-gooderizer in my opinion. A black box that does SOMETHING amazing that I'm not able to vocalise further than "it good. it very good". I'm SO stoked about their new drum focused plugin called Orion that is exactly the same level of magic as The God Particle is for mastering but for drum busses. I absolutely love a plugin that removes the need for me to over intellectualize a process. Slap it on - tweak some knobs - BOOM. All of their plugins are just GOLD! Highly highly recommend. What's the best plugin you've found recently?

Requiem - a new track (neoclassical, cinematic)
I'm happy to share a new track with you. It's cinematic music. Tragic in the mood. It can help to feel the dark colours of the Fall even deeper. Neoclassical with strings quintet, piano, celesta, bass and drums. listen: https://band.link/CsLCK

I’m in Mexico (and still alive)
Hi guys, some of you have reached out to ask if I’m still alive so I wanted to let you know that I am going to be away from my phone till Sunday as I’m in Mexico relaxing on the beach ahead of a DJ set tonight and tomorrow in the jungle đŸïž Appreciate the concern and wishing you all a magical couple of days filled with love and creativity. What are you guys up to this weekend?

If You Could Time Travel... đŸ•°ïž
If you could meet with your 18-year-old self one thing and tell/teach them one thing, what would it be? What advice, lesson, or truth would you share to help them navigate the journey ahead?

Bitwig: quick request shuffle conversion
@Claude Young I remember a while back you posted on the inter web some shuffle values and the approximation to TR 909. Could you repost here as I have lost the link, sorry.

Totally glad to share these! When I first got into Bitwig I wanted to know how to swing the software the same as my hardware or as close to as possible. So i rendered the Bitwig click. Put that in the sampler (phase inverted) played back the midi template i had of the hardware machine, against a straight time midi file of the same meter but set to use Bitwig's master groove. Then adjusted Bitwig's swing setting until the metronomes came as close as possible to cancelling out. Phase mixing DJ style. It was like the first trick we learned when we used to blend 2 copies of the same record. Totally familiar sound to any old-school DJ. These are some of the results. All hardware has variable timing so I look at midi swing files as snapshots. Hope you find this useful. :-) Number on the left is the Original Machine Swing and the Number on the right is the Bitwig Swing percentage setting (approximation) This can be used when quantizing instead of global swing on individual parts, which is how i use this stuff. Enjoy! Novation Circuit 50 % - 0 52 % - 2 54 % - 12 56 % - 16 58 % - 27 60 % - 34 62 % - 41 64 % - 48 66 % - 59 68 % - 66 70 % - 73 Roland TR 909 (16 Swing) Setting 1 - 16.1 Setting 2 - 24.7 Setting 3 - 49.2 Setting 4 - 58.5 Setting 5 - 75.6 Setting 6 - 91 LOGIC PRO (16 Swing) A - 0.0 B - 16.7 C - 33.3 D - 50 E - 66.7 F - 83.3 EMU SP-1200 (16 Swing) 54 % - 8.9 58 % - 24.4 63 % - 41.1 67 % - 58.9 71 % - 75.6

Yes & Yes. If you wanted to swing the whole track 909 swing setting 4 you set the global groove knob to 58.5 (or just 58%). Same with Quantize values. They would go in the "Shuffle" setting. Thats exactly how I use them. Some parts get swung one way. Others another way. Sometimes.
