I’m looking to get caught up on the last 4 episodes I missed and this one is fast becoming one of my favs!!!! This woman is a powerhouse and such an inspiration. She reminded me of something important I needed to keep in my heart. Thank you Dr. April and thank YOU Cortaiga for taking the small steps that led to greater purpose 🤎

@April Warren-Grice I think what I got most out of it was that steady progress is still progress. She took her time to build and grow instead of rushing. Sometimes I want something soooo bad I feel like I need to make it all happen at once. But building with intention and patience is key.

What keeps you going when nobody is watching?
Hey Good People, The last week has been about rest, recovery, and giving myself grace while getting back on my feet. One thing I've learned is that when you pause, life doesn't. The emails keep coming. The bills still show up. Family still needs you. Deadlines keep moving. Yesterday, as I eased back into my rhythm, I interviewed Dr. Ron Rochon, President of California State University Fullerton. One thing he said stayed with me: Education creates transformation, exposure, and opportunities to serve. But what really struck me was his reminder that our work matters even when we can't immediately see the impact. Sometimes we plant seeds we'll never personally watch grow. That reminder was timely for me because there are moments when the work feels heavy, progress feels slow, or life requires us to pause. Yet the calling remains. Finish this sentence in the comments: The work I'm called to do is __________. If you'd like to hear the full conversation and some powerful insights about transformation, exposure, service, and leadership, watch the interview attached.

The first thing that came to me was that I am called to bring clarity and compassion where there is judgement and confusion. That feels right to me and honestly if I look at how I spend my time, invest my time and enjoy my time….its closely tied to that calling in some way or another.
These are my confessions...
Life has been life-in lately. So if your energy is low... If you're carrying more than usual... If you're doing the best you can... Give yourself grace. Remember, your genius is in your care. When we tend to ourselves, we become more whole, and we can be that light for others Question: What’s one small thing you’re doing for yourself right now, something that helps you stay grounded, even if it’s just a breath, a walk, or a pause.

Thank you for your openness and vulnerability April. The fact that life keeps moving up, down and sideways no matter what we’re experiencing can be the wildest part of it all so I feel you on that. We’re missing Rocky over here too 🤎🐶🤎 sending you and J lots of love. One of the main things I do for me is let people help me. That’s huge because I used to avoid it at all costs, and the cost was typically my peace. I’ve started thinking how to let others love on me. Whether it’s asking for hugs, friend time, a special meal or whatever. I’ve always felt honored to help a friend so….now I let others feel that too. I can be the strong friend and the soft friend wrapped up in one, we all can. 🤎
Question:
What's one major goal you want to accomplish in June and what is one thing you will do this week to make progress? We are here to make progress. Let's make moves.

I did the major thing for June yesterday that I wanted which was to send out the first draft of a full podcast episode out to some folks to get feedback. That felt good and now I am completing research on the next 3 episodes. The new goal is to finish that and get at least one more episode out this month using feedback received about the first one.
