Flashback Friday 2009 The Drum is Freedom.
The Drum is the Symbol of Freedom. Why was the African Drum banned? Because it is the ultimate tool of liberation. It was taken from our people to disconnect us from our power, our heritage, and our voice. Today, we stand and Reclaim what’s ours. When you reclaim the Drum, you reclaim yourself. You reclaim your history, your autonomy, and your right to be heard. Reclaim your voice and reclaim your freedom. Please comment below and tell us why do you think the African Drum was Banned in America and many parts of the world ?
Flashback Friday 2009 The Drum is Freedom.
Aboru aboye abosise. Thank you for sharing. I was today years old when I found out that African drums were actually banned, and honestly that realization hit me deeply. It made me understand that the drum was never viewed as “just music.” The drum carries spiritual power, ancestral memory, communication, unity, and liberation. It has the ability to move energy, awaken the spirit, and connect people collectively on one accord. In many African traditions, the drum is sacred. It speaks beyond words. The rhythms call to the ancestors, communicate with spirits, shift atmospheres, and create connection between the physical and spiritual realms. Certain drum patterns were used ceremonially, for healing, prayer, celebration, protection, initiation, and even communication across distances. I believe drums were banned because those in power understood how powerful they truly were. A people connected to their rhythm, culture, ancestors, and spirit are much harder to control. Even after the physical drums were taken away, the rhythm still survived within us through clapping, stomping, song, dance, and oral tradition. That alone shows the power of the drum can never truly be silenced. 🔥🪘
@Awosanmi Sekou Alaje yesss!! THIS! 🙌🏽 Even when they tried to silence the drum, they could never silence the spirit within us. The rhythm simply transformed itself and is even more powerful than before 🔥

Ogun has a very powerful attribute. He has the ability to make money using only his hands. Because he makes things and sells them. He is one of the first entrepreneurs on earth. He teaches us that wealth can be created through imagination and hard work.. How do you stay connected to Spirit
Life is going to always throw us distractions, responsibilities, and obstacles that make it difficult to stay grounded and connected to the spirit. What techniques do you use to remain grounded and connected to your purpose, to your destiny, and to the spirit ? I make sure that it’s the first thing I do everyday so that before the day gets busy I know I have taken a moment even if only 5 minutes to connect with the spirit first. What do you do to remain connected ?
Both hands on my head and prayer to Ori before I get out of bed. And I always fast until 12pm my first portion of my day.
