Take your stop off!! š¤Ŗ
I faced my fear and took my stops off for the first time for a 2 hour session today! š„³ Its been 10 years. Haha. Not my favourite yet but I know it will get used to it. I will probably keep my stops in alot of the time for Safety and agility when I'm skate marshalling. But in my personal skate time I think I've got to a level where I I need to remove them to achieve some of the more advanced moves I'm aiming for and to push my spins further. I currently have the standard powerdyne adjustable toe stops on my moxi panthers screwed all the wa they aren't that big really so It's only really proving a slight obstacle now as I am attempting sit spins and and the matrix etc. SO These are my questions: - Does anyone have recommendations for a good option for something hybrid in-between a regular toe stops and a jam plug I could ween myself onto plugs with but still have a safety net for work without changing over all the time. Or any experience shaving down toes stops for this purpose? - I've been looking at options for small/mini stoppers online but finding dimensions of the actual stopper rather than the stems to compare is hard, so any example picturess of smaller stoppers or DIY reshapes on your skates would help alot before I invest in anything. - Can anyone recommend a softer more rubbery jam plug than the hard plastic ones that are more widely available or how to get a little more grab from my plastic ones without risking scratching any rink surfaces? Will Sanding them help? Bonus question is it even my stoppers that is the issue or is wheel size and hardness that's key? As I see artiststic skaters achieve these spins and they generally have toe stops in and they're often larger too?
