Is it too late to apply for benefits?
Hello everyone, I worked in CT since I was 16 until I was no longer able to for medical reasons. My last insured date is 2017 and I have about 12 years of work history. In 2015 the military rated me as totally and permanently disabled. Can I still claim social security benefits if I have medical documents proving that I was not able to work before my last insured date?

The only lawyer that seemed confident suggested a medical examiner who could review my medical records and fill out this form for about $3000, maybe you recognize this form? Physical RFC - Retro AOD - DLI. But there were also some other questions about whether or not I would be a good fit for his office.
