Trying to be Like Danny Cooper on YouTube
Hey Yall Just started recording my sessions with a mic and a stationary camera I usually just have a photo/videographer come in and capture clips, but I want parents to see how I actually interact with their kids First couple videos, but would love feedback on the YouTube scene https://youtu.be/auLymiInGN4?si=JmPa-RUpIZDcEwgi

Working with Pro Hoopers
An overseas pro I used to coach against at the middle school level is back for his off season from China and the Philippines. I got to work with him last week and run him through the same curriculum I run our junior high students through..just a different level of intensity and pace. I attached a video clip. You'll see him, another guy who played D2, and my lead trainer who played 8 years overseas too. I look at it as fun and validation..not necessarily for revenue. BUT, I want to know how you guys approach this. How/When should I pivot to creating space for that level and charging them for it? https://www.instagram.com/reel/DZ6TsNqvx9C/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==

@Daniel Cooper Mostly it was for validation that our curriculum fits for any level. And thats how I captioned the posts too. I'm hoping I can use it as credibility to get into that space. And yes its fun for sure. But I'll always remember my friend who owns a martial arts academy would tell me that the kids/youth pay for all the bills. His MMA fight team was more of what he did for fun. But without the kids/youth there wasn't enough consistent revenue. That's what I'm trying to weigh. I know the kids/youth are the revenue driver. But it would be nice to have a few college/pro clients and have additional revenue stream. Or not and just use it for marketing.

@Daniel Cooper ok that makes sense. I def will be using all the content for marketing. And i'll have to productize it and start charging
9 Lessons I've Learned as a Player Development Coach
1. Every player learns differently 2. The "Drills" you use aren't as important as the "why" behind each drill 3. Finding Solutions to Problems (as quick as possible) makes you a great coach 4. Having Defenders/rebounders make the workout 10x better 5. Coming in with a plan gives you confidence to command the workout 6. Focus on 1 thing at a time 7. Shooting is the most important skill in basketball 8. Live Defense > Cone drills 9. Nothing beats simply playing basketball What would you add?

Yesterday I trained an overseas pro, D2 players, varsity player, and jv player in a small group. The parents of the high school players and the spouse of the pro said they enjoyed seeing everyone smile during the workout. That's a personal lesson. It can still be fun.
