Introduce myself
Hello, my name is Ricky, and I am excited to share my aspirations with you. I've dedicated over eight years to the logistics and transportation industry. However, I find myself at a pivotal moment in my career; I aim to launch my own dispatching business. Despite my extensive background, I have not actively participated in dispatching for nearly nine years due to various legal challenges and health issues that temporarily hindered my progress. Experience in Logistics Transportation During my years in logistics, I have acquired comprehensive knowledge of the transportation industry, including the nuances of supply chain management, freight operations, and customer service. These experiences have equipped me with a unique perspective on the intricacies and challenges within the field. However, I recognize that dispatching is a distinct segment of the industry that requires specific skills and an up-to-date understanding of regulations and technologies. The Need for Refreshing Knowledge As I embark on this journey to establish my dispatch company, one of my foremost objectives is to refresh my understanding of dispatching processes and the Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Given the evolution of technologies and guidelines in recent years, I am committed to seeking training and resources that will bolster my expertise. Engaging with current literature, attending workshops, and networking with industry professionals are all part of my plan to equip myself with the necessary tools to succeed. The Business of Dispatching Launching my own dispatching business is not merely a means to capitalize on my skills; it is a passion-driven goal that allows me to contribute value to the transportation landscape. I envision a company that prioritizes efficiency, reliability, and exceptional customer service. My aim is to create a platform that connects shippers and carriers seamlessly, ensuring that logistics operations run smoothly and effectively. Looking Ahead In conclusion, as I take these preliminary steps towards opening my dispatch company, I remain cognizant of the challenges that lie ahead. However, with the right training and the invaluable experiences I have accumulated over the years, I am optimistic about making a meaningful impact in the logistics and transportation sector. My journey is just beginning, but my commitment to learning and growth strengthens my resolve to make this dream a reality.

Ricky, thank you for sharing your story. Your eight years in logistics and transportation already give you a strong foundation, and stepping into dispatching now is a powerful move. Life can throw challenges our way, but the fact that you’re here, rebuilding and refocusing, says a lot about your resilience. Your experience is absolutely still valuable, even if you haven’t dispatched in a while. The industry evolves, but the core skills, communication, problem‑solving, understanding freight never leave you. Excited to see you step into this new chapter and build something of your own. You’ve got everything it takes to make this next phase a success.
