Am I overthinking this? "Hi, how are you?" instead of "Salam"
Salamu Alaikum, sisters. I hope you're all doing well. I have a question that might seem a little silly, so please bear with me. When a brother starts the conversation with "Hi, how are you?" instead of "Assalamu Alaikum" (or at least "Salam") and without introducing himself, is that generally considered okay? I can't help but feel that it comes across as a bit casual or as if he's just testing the waters rather than approaching with genuine intention. Am I reading too much into it, or have any of you felt the same way?
