This past September, I watched my daughter step into a new chapter as she left for university, while my son continues his journey in Grade 11. Being a single mother has shaped me in ways I never expected. I’ve carried the weight of doing it all—sometimes co-parenting when it was possible, sometimes standing alone when it wasn’t. I’ve worked up to three jobs at once just to provide, even during seasons when it still didn’t feel like enough. But survival was never the end of my story. I am a creative at heart and an entrepreneur by choice. I began telling stories about my pets as a way to cope, heal, and reconnect with joy. That creativity grew into something bigger—building a community for business owners and creating spaces where people feel seen, supported, and inspired. Animals have always been my constant. I currently share my life with three dogs and four cats, and I volunteer with a dog rescue. I am also an *Equine-Assisted Learning Facilitator* and hold a Diploma in Counselling. Helping others—both people and animals—is not just what I do, it’s who I am. Since I was a little girl, I’ve carried one clear dream: to create a horse ranch that helps people heal. A place rooted in compassion, connection, and second chances. My vision is to build a space in Canada with 10–20 small homes, rescued horses, dogs, and cats—where individuals facing mental health challenges, addiction, or homelessness can find stability, purpose, and healing through animals. A true two-way street, where people heal alongside animals who are learning to trust and feel loved again. I have the plan. I have the heart. I have the experience. What I need now is the funding to bring this dream to life. This year, I am choosing to stop letting fear and anxiety decide what’s possible. I’m choosing to believe that the dreams planted in me as a child still matter. And if given the opportunity, I will put every single dollar toward building something that changes lives—human and animal alike. This isn’t just a dream. It’s my life’s purpose.”
