For many of us, football feels simple. We've watched it for years. We know what's happening almost automatically. But for someone new to the game? There is A LOT going on. So let's strip football down to its most basic form. The objective is simple: 👉 Move the football into the opponent's end zone and score more points than the other team. A team gets four attempts (called downs) to gain 10 yards. If they gain 10 yards, they get a new set of four downs and keep the ball. If they don't? The other team gets possession. Ways to score: 🏈 Touchdown = 6 points 🏈 Extra Point Kick = 1 point 🏈 Two-Point Conversion = 2 points 🏈 Field Goal = 3 points 🏈 Safety = 2 points Each team takes turns playing: ⚡ Offense = Trying to score 🛑 Defense = Trying to stop them The game consists of four quarters, and the team with the most points at the end wins. That's really football in its simplest form: Move the ball. Gain first downs. Score points. Stop the other team from doing the same. Of course... The NFL has officially concluded its investigation into Stefon Diggs and will not issue any discipline under the Personal Conduct Policy. Now that the off-field questions are behind him, the focus shifts back to football. And let's not forget... Last season with the Patriots, Diggs still put up: 🔥 85 receptions 🔥 1,013 receiving yards 🔥 4 touchdowns Not bad for a guy many people thought was nearing the end of his prime. With New England moving on and adding more talent to their receiver room, Diggs is now one of the most intriguing free agents available. The question is: Where should he sign? A few possibilities: 🏈 Kansas City Chiefs – Give Mahomes another proven weapon. 🏈 Dallas Cowboys – Pair Diggs with CeeDee Lamb and create matchup problems everywhere. 🏈 Buffalo Bills – A reunion? Stranger things have happened. 🏈 Pittsburgh Steelers – A veteran target could help their offense immediately. 🏈 San Francisco 49ers – If they can make the money work, Diggs could thrive in that system. Personally, I think Diggs still has enough left in the tank to help a contender. The right situation is probably more important than the biggest contract at this stage of his career. So I just watched Game 4 of the NBA Finals. The Spurs had a monster first half and were up 76-49. I thought they had the game in the bag. Then the unthinkable happened. The Knicks pulled off the biggest single-game comeback in NBA Finals history. Down 29 points. They fought all the way back and won by 1 point on a putback with just 1.2 seconds remaining. As a Spurs fan, I just sat there in shock. Even as I write this post, I'm still shaking my head. It reminded me why we watch sports. No lead is truly safe. No game is over until the final buzzer. What are some of the most memorable sports comebacks—or meltdowns—you've ever seen? For NFL fans, it's hard for me to top the Patriots coming back from 28-3 against the Falcons in Super Bowl LI.
